[Location: Living room — Banmaden]
Mystic: Do you want some?
Kino: Oh, sure.
DJ: [Passing by the living room, I notice Mystic and Kino. Mystic is feeding him part of his snack.]
[I smile to myself. A scene from the past comes back to me.]
[Flash.]
[Location: Shin’s bedroom — Banmaden]
Shin: DJ.
DJ: [I stop folding Shin’s outfit and look up when I hear him say my name.]
Do you need something, sir?
Shin: Nothing. I was wondering if you wanted some.
DJ: [He lifts up the platter of nuts in his hand. I look at him for a moment.]
Um, no, I’m fine—
Shin: Come on. Taste it. It doesn’t bother me.
DJ: [Oh, he wasn’t asking. He wanted me to taste it. Without complaining any further, I place down the clothes on a chair and approach him. He takes my hand and sits me down on the corner of the bed beside him.]
[He picks out a nut from the platter and places it in between my teeth, pushing it into my mouth with his finger.]
DJ: [Once his finger touches my lips, I realize Shin is really close to me. I feel my face redden slightly.]
Shin: Tastes good?
DJ: [Shin smiles gently, looking at me right into my eyes.]
Um—yes. Thank you very much, sir…
Shin: Fufufu… whenever you wish. Everything you need to do is ask.
[Location: Hallway — Banmaden]
DJ: [I start walking down the hallway once again, putting a hand over my left eye.]
(At that time, we were so young and innocent. It’s a bit fun thinking what happened a few years down the line.)
Fufufu…
[An arm slithers around my waist. I tense up for a moment and look up. Shin smiles at me.]
Shin: What’s the matter?
DJ: [Smiles.] Nothing, really. I was just thinking about how Mystic and Kino reminded me of us when we were young.
Shin: [Mutters.] Yeah, yeah. My son and that—
DJ: Very well.
[I pat his chest.]
You just accept that your son might end up marrying Kino. [Giggles.]
Shin: I guess so…
DJ: Do you not want to give your son the freedom we were never able to have?
Shin: . . .
Okay, okay… I get it. I suppose that as a good father, I should try to like that guy.
DJ: [Smiles.] Very well, dear.
[I tip-toe and plant a kiss on his cheek. When I try to slip away from his arm, he pulls me even harder towards him and kisses me on the lips. He pulls away slightly and I can feel his smile against my mouth.]
[My cheeks turn bright red.]
Ah—ah…
Shin: Fufufu…
