Never a good thing, Aneira was many things, sharp, a good shot and an impeccable dresser but she wasn’t the best at putting things diplomatically. But for once, she wanted to at least try. The younger woman sat down, taking off her gloves, an attempt to get comfortable and act somewhat casual. Still, she probably looked as awkward as she felt.

“Why do you do this?”

When she thinks of her colleague she thinks of a good soul in an intimidating shell, he’s one of the better ones. Surely he wasn’t like colleagues who had excitedly joined the ranks of the Turks, was he?

The words come without much thought as she rifles through some papers, anti-company sentiments in the slums? What a surprise. Aneira can say with certainty that no one in their department is a saint, the very nature of their work doesn’t allow for self-gratifying forms of heroism others have the joy of tasting. Getting their hands bloody so no one else has to is almost a requirement of their jobs and she’s sure it’d be easy to convince one’s self that it’s all for the greater good.

But Rude’s always been...real. Quiet but she’s never felt that he wasn’t genuine or admirable (hell, she hoped to be half the Turk he was one day), a good person with a job that involves doing bad things.

i mean, don’t get me wrong. there are some fantastic psds and stuff out there. there really are! but ho boy i just kind of “what is that. what am i looking at.” sometimes.

and if i’m at that point, shfsdff, then it may be a bit too far.
