I am both relieved and glad that people else other than me (and a few others who have stated being on-board before) are on this tiny little raft of a ship.

I have this theory from Shadow Boxers that Heavy went with Soldier and Miss Pauling because he felt like Miss Pauling couldn't protect herself. Yet in Blood in the Water, he tells a concerned Scout that she can take care of herself. Something happened that clearly won Heavy's trust over. 

Maybe even his heart. I can dream.

what kind of music do you reckon miss pauling and the heavy would be into, respectively

Heavy loves singing and music, Russian folk songs and classical music as well as small catchy ditties he hears here and there. If he likes a song that he hears on base or on the radio, doesn’t matter where it’s from; he’ll probably remember it and hum it while brutally murdering somebody. Louder and more noisier music is a little hesitant to get used to but he’ll probably let himself get carried away with the rhythm, then when it all ends have a good laugh about it and move along to try and not bring attention to himself or let himself get carried away again. (Also, Elvis and rock n’ roll are guilty pleasures.)

I might be projecting for this one, but Miss Pauling strikes me as being into the 50’s - 60’s era rock n’ roll, doo-wop and jazz. During the encroaching into the 70’s, I feel like she’d be open enough to new music in that way where you hear it on the radio you’d be like “this is super loud or weird, I don’t like this song” but she hears it enough while working that eventually she stops mouthing to “Build Me Up, Buttercup” and just grabs the corpse she was supposed to dispose of and dance along until she gets a hold of herself and drops it in the hole she dug.
