Since I’ve seen you use paleo-Hebrew script a few times, how widely recognized is it by the average Israeli? I (diaspora Jew who is only really familiar with the modern/Assyrian script) can’t read PH (without looking up some kind of letter chart), but do most Israelis know it? And is it used for anything in contemporary Israel?
I think that the average Israeli won't be able to read it either. It's not really a part of our education, the writing system went out of use millennia ago. I do think we were introduced to it in elementary school, and at least one of my IRL friends was able to read some in an archaeological site back when I still didn't know it.
Which is another point. While I knew some stuff about this alphabet for a while (such as the shape of the Aleph, because it's the source of the Ashkenazi cursive form of the letter), I only fully got into it when @moran-without-a-g started writing in it - it started a trend in Israblr. Well, my own actions led to this trend, since I invented a transliteration system based on the descent of Latin letters from the Phoenician ones, but that is a slightly different matter.
As for usage, for obvious reasons the answer is no. The Hebrew university dies gave a logo with the Paleo Hebrew Aleph in it, but it's not their main logo and that isn't really much.
Also, it's important to note the variation we used in tumblr is supposed to bethe northern variation of the script, from Tyre or Sidon - maybe even the Punic version from Carthage, IDK. There are a couple of small differences from the alphabet used by the Israelites, Judeans or our Moabite neighbours. Though the concept of a standardized form of the letter didn't exist until the printing press, and the alphabet was dead long before it came along.
