Heddal Stavkirke Details
Heddal Stave Church Norway is famous for its centuries-old wooden stave churches, many dating as far back as 11th century and listed as UNESCO World Heritage site. Heddal Stave Church, located in Nottoden, 117km on the way from Oslo to the western fjords is the largest stave church in the country, built in the early 13th century and has a triple-level nave - totally fairy-tale from the outside and argue all the most beautiful of all the Norwegian stave churches. The church has a foundation of 25x17m and height of 29m with three turrets of different levels. It is still an active church. When Christianity came to Norway in the 11th-13th centuries, over 1000 stave churches were built all over Norway, but less then 30 remain today. #travel2unlimited #travel #travelblog #norway #norwegian #norse #europe #natgeotravel #unesco #adventure #stavchurchnorway #stavkirke #heddal #heddalstavechurch (at Heddal stave church) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cesxh_qDMb5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
