The problem with being a huge LotR fan is that every time you discover another deep aspect of the story it *always* somehow ties back to how *fucking tragic* the death of Boromir is.
Theoden died defending Gondor? Boromir wasn’t there.
Frodo survives his journey against all odds, defeating Sauron and destroying the Ring? Boromir wasn’t there.
Aragorn reclaims the Kingdom of Gondor and ushers in an era of peace? Boromir wasn’t there.
Faramir marries Eowyn and unites the two kingdom of men? Boromir wasn’t there.
