#hedonis <- original species of dragon. They can look like anything but the most common set of traits is fat, thick furred, quadruped, cold adapted, and wingless. They feed on pleasure as their main energy source, though still need reduced amounts of normal food for nutrients. Pleasure can be absorbed passively but is most effective in the stomach. Hedonis have a gland leading to a nozzle at the tailtip, releasing a honey-like venom that in its base form causes euphoria and sedation, turning mortal prey into an easy to eat source of pleasure. Hedonis don't move territories much, so they're sorta like a deposit in that way, the locations of towns (at least those of civilizations aware of the uses of dragon honey) would be influenced by where hedonis live, building a town next to a hedonis has the added benefit of the hedonis fending off less friendly dragons and other dangerous creatures in their territory, and are fiercely protective of humans.
It is important to note that hedonis, like all dragons, are intelligent and opinionated creatures, and will likely respond to any impact access to their honey has other than it simply being on the market, if made aware of said impacts. They cannot be forcefully extracted, they will either respond violently or refuse to cooperate, political impacts such as profits from their honey being used to finance wars/oppression, or wars being fought over hedonis territory will likely result in the hedonis refusing to give honey or ensuring that none of its honey leaves its territory until an acceptable agreement on how the honey will be used is reached.
