Heidelberg. I named this piece after Tyree Guyton’s magical art installation, and community art project, @heidelbergproj The animal covered telephone poles, which are pictured in the painting, are a part of that larger installation. I used to hang out at the Heidelberg project a lot while I was in college. I got to know the artists working there and they invited me on my first trip to the Packard plant, in search of a room in the basement that was rumored to hold enormous boxes full of ice skates and cowboy boots. They wanted them for an installation. I fell in love with urban exploring on that trip and have been painting like scenes, ever since❤️ Oh, and there really were giant boxes filled with cowboy boots, ice skates and a mini mountain of pumps!! ⛸🥾👠 #heidelbergproject #detroit #elliotneighborhood #packardplant #oilpainting #realism #art #thinkspacegallery #thinkspacefamily #wildabandon #stephaniebuer https://www.instagram.com/p/BstokXKB0iW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8bo4i49929l6
