Each pair of earrings are hand cut with a jeweler's saw from sheet metal and then powder coated. The process of powder coating is painting that electrostatically covers metal with a dry pigment, which is then cured under heat to create a durable, uniform finish. Earrings by Mallory Weston ! Mallory is a recent MFA graduate of Rhode Island School of Design! Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. Her work has been published in Metalsmith Magazine as well as Lark Books 500 Silver Jewelry Designs. Mallory's work will be on display all summer long ! Earrings by Laura Wood are also be featured in this year's Earrings Galore exhibition! Laura received her BFA in jewelry and metals from the University of Georgia and her MFA in metal design from East Carolina University. Papermaking and the lineage of jewelry and ornament have been a strong influence in the direction of her work. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and is a contributing artist of the Gregg Museum of Art and Design Permanent collection in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been a curator of both paper and jewelry exhibitions and was the founding voice in the East Carolina University Material Topics Symposium 2010.
