Trick or treat?
Treat! you get… a copy of love and war by Paul Cornell!
character ask thing... I suspect I already know your answers for 13 and Dhawan soooo let's try Missy?
Sorry this took so long! Thought I'd have time before now. 😅
Sexuality Headcanon: It's impossible for me to fully separate each regeneration of a character from their greater whole, but speaking specifically for Missy, I think she's pansexual. Very much into the whole David Rose "I like the wine, not the label!" explanation of things.
Gender Headcanon: I for sure see her as fully reveling in being a woman. Not that I think she'd be offended if you refer to her any other way, though she may tease you about it, but I think part of what makes the transition from her into Dhawan!Master so darkly delicious is the fact that she fully embraced and embodied the concept of presenting female, despite the pitfalls that come from presenting that way in an overwhelmingly patriarchal universe. I think it amuses her. And I think she delights in making people uncomfortable with her womanhood.
A ship I have with said character: I think the bigger/better question is who DON'T I ship her with? 😂 But after writing scenes with her and 13 in one of my fics, I'd really love to explore that relationship more.
A BROTP I have with said character: Clara. Could I see them as more than that? Absolutely. But was it insanely fun to see them squabbling like siblings in their episodes together? A thousand percent. More of that dynamic, please.
A NOTP I have with said character: Uhhhh... Davros? Nardole? 😝 Like I said above, I could ship her with just about anyone. You give me a solid reasonable argument, and you'll probably sell me on it.
A random headcanon: She has a thing for musical theater, and purposefully styled herself after Mary Poppins, but what she would really love to do is play Miss Andrew on stage. Just for the thrill of it. (Also, entirely unrelated and not really random, but she and Simm!Master definitely fucked.)
General Opinion over said character: I love her. I didn't at first, but she grew on me fast and furious, as most middle-aged hot female villains do. I was sobbing by the end of her run, and I would give anything to see her again. But I'm never going to forgive her for killing one of the Osgoods. 😒
top 5 Romana moments
oh hmmmm i have to think about this. again this is more the first five i think of rather than my pre prepared best ever list
in stones of blood when she wears those stupid heels and falls off a cliff <3
that bit in pursuit of history where she gets kidnapped by a laan and it nearly kills her by accident because she was nice to them that one time
'Me? Wonderful? I suppose I am. I've never really thought about it.'
literally any time in gallifrey time war when she's annoyed at narvin and giving him grief for it
gallifrey spirit.
Hey you freak you're such a loaf of bread
giggling kicking my feet twirling my hair
Send me a word and I will search my fic WIP, if it is in it, I will post the sentence without context.

Miraculously, neither word is currently in the document. You're welcome to try again, though :P
Character ask game: Helen Sinclair, 2, 4, 9, 14?
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
Hate to be predictable but the fact that she's finally canonically gay and that it's just a very casual mention, nothing too in your face. She's just allowed to exist with it, and remain the way she is without being outed or pushed. Though, as that is more of an appreciation of the writing... I love that she's fiercly loyal to her friends, and that trait becomes stronger the longer she knows them for. It works to her benefit but also to her detriment, which makes her an intriguing character.
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Book. Because as much as I would LOVE to have Liv&Helen in my NuWho, the show is a lot tamer these days and the heavy themes that could be explored with these characters as is normally done would probably fall to the wayside a bit. Book allows for more because while made to cater to a lot of people, it doesn't necessarily have to cater to everyone. So, yes, book.
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Genuinely, yes, probably. We've several traits in common and I wouldn't mind a quieter roommate. We're both avid readers, and a bit geeky. I'm a little messy so she'd probably chide me for that, but then, I'd probably also enable her chaotic side a bit like Liv tends to do. It'd work itself out once we're settled.
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Dark academia but like... make it colourful as fuck. All the colours you'd find in 70s Memphis design. I feel like... Helen would love a dash of colour, even if it's an ugly knit woollen jumper. That's just the vibe she gives off.
Well then, answer me 1, 2, 4, 8, and 10 for the new and shiny Doctor Who ask meme!
Ah crap, gotta put my money where my mouth is!
1. A terrible effect or costume that you love
There's so many put the first thing that comes to my mind is the shot of the TARDIS and Professor Chronotis' TARDIS from Shada in the time vortex. It makes me cackle but in such a sincere way, it feels like the epitome of Classic Who to me.
2. A terrible effect or costume that annoys you or breaks your immersion
Ah jeez that's a tougher one okay OH the Cybermasters. I hate them so much, I think they look so ridiculous and out of almost everything Doctor Who has had in it, they just feel so fake(?) I think that's the word I want to use, I'm not quite sure. ESPECIALLY when they were first revealed in Timeless Child with those ridiculous frowns on their faces oh my goooood.
4. How an episode you don't like could have gone better
The problem with this one is choosing just one episode, haha. Going with the first one that came to my head, Kerblam!. I really, really dug that episode up until the third act. The reveal of the antagonist and their plan and their motivation just all felt so muddled. It was like the writer knew what they wanted to do but it ended up coming out so wrong. The whole episode was showing just how grim and sad and awful it was to work at this place and then for the villain's motivation to be that there weren't enough humans working there just felt so off. It may have been more obvious, but I do think the episode would've worked a lot better had the company been the problem. Because lemme tell ya, the fact that more humans weren't allowed to work in that place would not be my biggest issue were I an employee.
8. If they were to give him a historical companion, when/where should they come from?
Well first of all I'd be happy with literally any time period because anything would be more interesting than modern day Earth at this point. I feel like I can't come up with anything super unique because I'm not a huge history buff (probably my worst subject in school honestly), and this idea might just be because my partner and I started watching X-Files, but I kinda like the idea of someone from the late 60s or 70s who's a major UFO/alien theorist and meeting the Doctor/traveling with them gives the companion a sense of vindication. I feel like it could be really sweet and also lead to a companion who is just fascinated by everything they're seeing.
10. If you could pick one iconic item of clothing or accessory for Fourteen, what would it be?
I'll be honest I'm very bad when it comes to creativity with clothes, haha. The question also says accessory though so I'll say I'd really want 14 to be less reliant on the sonic and have other tools and gizmos as well. 10 had a couple here and there, like in Partners in Crime, and I think it's very fun for the Doctor to have just all sorts of things in their pockets and tool boxes that have different uses. Still have the sonic for stuff like doors and computers, but if the Doctor needs to track an energy reading on foot or cloak a signal coming from an alien escape pod, why not have some funky little prop!
