Attention students and staff
The Clave has just come forward with a very startling announcement. Through the many shadowhunters who venture out on assignments, it seems that a new demon, or demonic virus, has been discovered. What many are calling Ghouls , seem to be walking corpses to others. Nevertheless, here are the facts
Ghouls, like werewolves, transfer their infection through a bite or scratch. Yet, unlike lycanthropy, the survival rate from a bite is zero. If you are bitten, you are doomed.
Once a Ghoul has bitten their victim, the body begins to shut down little by little. Heart rate is slowed, core temperature drops, and eventually breathing screeches to a halt. After a matter of minutes, the corpse will reanimate with no recollection of who or what they were.
Ghouls attack relentlessly. Flesh wounds are ignored and subsequently, the corpses keep on moving. The only known way to stop them is to wound their brain.
Though the Ghouls bite is detrimental for shadowhunters and mundane’s alike, werewolves, vampires, and warlocks seem to have an immunity to their infection. There is no knowledge of how the bite affects Fair Folk.
Their numbers are few, but multiplying. Still, the clave has absolute faith they can eliminate this threat without it becoming a further problem.
The members of the Clave are working diligently to eliminate this newest threat. Though there seems to be no present threat to any member of the Academy, student or staff, the Clave has decided to share this knolwage with you all in order to expand upon learning. But, with additional threat, curfew restrictions have been tightened even more. No longer are students allowed to leave the Academy without the presence of a teacher or mentor.
