Unexpected love confessions are not something he encounters all that often and his first thought is, naturally, something along the lines of ‘did I just fall into an anime’ before reality reasserts itself and he confirms that no, this is not an anime and yes, Shizuo apparently just confessed. He’s not actually sure what to do with that particular reality, though.
It’s not a bad reality, just an unplanned for one. He tilts his head slowly, taking it in and absorbing the information for a few moments. He’s supposed to confess back, right? That’s how these things work?
Unfortunately there’s a lack of reciprocation here, and that might be a problem -- Walker takes a moment to dredge up everything and examine it in all the angles he can think of before he finally makes his decision.
“I think I might be able to,” he says slowly, thoughtful. Honest, because for all the hiding, all the turns of phrase and layers and layers of hidden meanings and carefree smiles he likes to cloak himself in, he prefers to be direct in his relationships. It makes things easier, knowing who you’re on good terms with and who you’re not. “Love you, I mean. Because I definitely like you. A lot.”
