Hejorama v3.0
For the past 7 years I've been working on a project/website called Hejorama. It started as a student project at the end of Uni which became 4 years later my first failed attempt at making a viable startup and eventually became last week, my main side project.
At first we designed Hejorama as a community for travelers to share their stories, tips and addresses. Something between Yelp and a dedicated blog platform. As we never reached the critical mass to make it appealing enough, we stopped working on it for a few years and got on with our careers. 2 jobs later, we figured that we might want to try something more editorial with a strong manifesto, high quality content and a decent business plan. We spent two years and a half turn our student project into a real business and kinda succeeded in some ways. But I came to realize that I would never be good enough at the business side and that we'd always be lacking that in our team. So we decided to shutdown the operation and take some time to think about the next phase.
A year later, here we are, unveiling a new site with a sleek design, perfectly optimized and also very simple to browse. The project revolves only around us now and the content we want to publish. No pressure of getting 100's of likes on Facebook to satisfy a brand or an editorial planning to keep growing our readership. Just pure freedom and a space where we can tell our adventures around the world, share our tips and ideas on how to make the world a better place.
I'm very proud of this new version and I couldn't be more happy to have the hundreds of article we wrote in the past 3 years easily available and readable thanks to this new website. Let's see where it takes us for the next 7 years!
