Transforming the core settings of “dark academia” to be cozy and snug, Scholarly Pursuits: A Queer Anthology of Cozy Academia Stories features 22 delightful, charming science fiction and fantasy stories set at colleges, universities, libraries, and other places where people pursue academic excellence – and all feature queer characters! From field research shenanigans to cooking adventures, from space station education departments to eldritch libraries, our awesome authors have brought their vivid imaginings to life in this anthology. We can’t wait to share it with you!
The contributors to this anthology are Robin S. Blackwood, E. V. Dean, Eliza J. Fitzwilliam, Rhosyn Goodfellow, Mare Griffen, Zel Howland, Robin Huntington, Indigo J. H., Bettina Juszak, Lucy K. While I have many opinions I need to say express about the Touchstarved Chapter 1 Preview and not nearly enough time to do so, there is one glaring question I have yet to see posed — What happened to Sen?
While both Sen and Elyon are DLC side characters, only Elyon made an appearance in the preview. There is nothing known about Sen except her character introduction from the DLC stretch goal for the Kickstarter campaign, which is likely outdated considering the major changes the game has undergone from the original vision. Neither of them have been mentioned or featured on Red Spring Studio's social media accounts for years. The women's day post only featured Iris and Basilea, Vere's Senobium-assigned handler.
Considering this game is marketed as being produced by an indie, queer-owned, and POC development team, I expected the love interests to be more diverse in terms of gender. There are 4 male and 1 non-binary love interests in the base game, and 1 male and 1 female love interest available as separate DLC purchases. The only female love interest in the game has been sidetracked, and this doesn't reflect well on the studio and game's image. To non-backers and casual followers, it would seem that Sen has been abandoned.

Sun Chaser, created by Bernard Badion and Bobby Pontillas, centers around Jordan Santos. A teen who's summer vacation turns upside down when he accidentally opens a portal and an ancient evil attacks his lola's island.
The pilot is out on YouTube and the Kickstarter has already been launched. The team behind this project does not have a Tumblr, I am merely a Filipino who sees it's potential and wants it to flourish.
I hope that my plea to support this will not go unheard. Animation in the Philippines is rare and I want such an art form to be taken seriously in my home country.
Which is why I want this to be supported. To let the Sun Chaser team continue to have the chance in having their story told and may it inspire other Filipino stories in animation to come out into the spotlight as well.
