He just needed to go in and retrieve his jacket. It was cold outside and he was positively freezing, so it had all been very unexpected. But see, apparently, Jean had worked out a way to be quiet. (Maybe if Marco knew about the whole incident with his mother he’d understand more, but like hell Jean was going to tell him that one).

Marco walked into the room without looking, and the only thing that alerted him to put his head up was the near-shriek of ‘Marco!' leaving the other boy's lips.

(And maybe that name had been leaving his lips, hushed and whispered and desperate in another context just moments before - just another thing to add to the pile of shit Jean won’t tell Marco)

Marco’s head whipped around and he saw everything (really, Jean, you couldn’t have at least tried to put your dick away in the second you had before Marco looked?) 

“Ah! Jean! Um, I - I’m gonna go!” Marco’s voice was unnaturally high as he turned and all but sprinted from the bunk, shutting the door and pressing himself against the wall.

That was embarrassing, above all else. But there was an undeniable heat coursing through him, breath hitching in his throat and his face burning a bright red. And all of those reactions made this even more embarrassing.

Well. At least now that he was all hot and bothered, he didn’t need his jacket anymore.

Sometimes Marco gets really upset that Jean's the main person who isn't really close to the rest of the trainees in the 104th where Marco's close with pretty much everyone and so even above and beyond his crush on Jean he'll go out of his way to bring him up in conversations with people and he goes looking for common interests because really all he wants is for the 104th to all be a big close happy family
