Helioceratops is a Neoceratopsian known from the Quantou Formation, dating back to sometime between the Aptian and Cenomanian ages of the Early Cretaceous, sometime between 125 and 100 million years ago. It is only known from skull fragments, but it can be estimated to be about 1.3 meters long. It lived alongside the Thescelosaur Changchunsaurus and the Macronarian Jiutaisaurus.
