Service Hound
Helios has always been as much of a "Service" Hound to Handler as a "In-the-field" Hound, to help with Her anxiety. But since She left the empire and went mercenary, this one has been helping Her with Her emotional needs more. The time between contracts can be months long (not to mention travel time between planets), so we have plenty of "downtime". It stays by Her side. Sits under Her desk while She works. Sleeps in Her bed; She always struggled to sleep alone.
Hound wraps around Her and places its ear on Her heart, making sure Her pulse is calm and steady.
Sometimes, She says strange things to Helios. She calls it a "kitty" or "soft"...It doesn't agree, but will be anything for Her.
Sometimes She says She "loves me"...of course she loves me, handlers love their hounds. And I love h- It loves Handler.
Saw this piece of street art yesterday and it spoke to this Hound. It had to go back and photograph the art, the art's just...very evocative. This one hopes the other Hounds like this too.
(also couldn't find the og artist - think the tag says Momo or maybe Modio? Not to dox itself, but the art is on the Donaukanal in Vienna. Hope this one can find them.)
The mercenary pilots acted strange around it, now it has its muzzle back.
But they've started to refer to this one as an "it" again, so perhaps that means they're warming up to Helios.
It was tired of pretending it was like them.
Helios hasn't posted on here in awhile, its been surprisingly busy. It received its first muzzle since Handler went mercenary ^ ^ Helios is starting to feel whole again! But it got used to Handler rewarding it with kisses :(
