Why does everyone hate on neo pronouns?

It's honestly ridiculous. You can think they're weird, confusing, or unnecessary, but that's not an excuse to belittle or harass people.
If it isn't hurting you and it helps someone feel more comfortable, why not respect it?
I don't know a ton about neopronouns myself, but I would never go out of my way to be mean to someone over them. It's really not that hard to be respectful.
Everyone has things that makes them feel comfortable that other people might not understand. Showing that same respect to others shouldn't be controversial.

You don't need to understand everything about a person to treat them with basic respect.
