thinkin’ abt alvins infurno again….. i will never abandon that story.
it means so much to me as an abuse victim (ha, wow! feels weird calling myself that!) and honestly i think it helped me come to terms with the fact that i had been abused.
but i also hold the morals of it very close to my heart. abusers are humans too, if we strip away their humanity not only are we committing more violence upon the world but we are also distancing ourselves from the fact that anyone and everyone can become an abuser.
also while in recent months my position of ‘everyone can become a better person given enough time’ has wavered and been challenged severely, i still try and cling to that hope. the world is cruel, but we can be kind and seek to understand it without excusing it.
