If religion is banned then what do people say when someone sneezes

Gesundheit I suppose. But “God” is still a word in the Valhalla universe, and the religious bans don’t bar any talk of religion or mention of a god. They don’t even ban religion, just evangelism and potential influence.

Knowledge of religion is pretty thin to the general public though, and nobody thinks of a real deity actually blessing them if they say “God bless you.” Like if someone says “Armed to the Teeth” now they don’t really think about an ancient warrior actually holding a dagger with their teeth, or when someone is said to be “Over a Barrel” they aren’t thinking of the inquisition hanging an accused heretic over a barrel of boiling tar.

Of course, people who know the history still know all about the subject and will apply it very literally- “God? You have bigger things than God after you now!” she screamed. “When I’m done with you, you’ll envy Judas in hell!”
