You want to consume some helldamn, you say? Ask, and ye shall receive... (and you can have a chunk of it instead of a line, since I haven't updated the beast in five-ever) (also because I wanted to include the bit where I use the word 'colichemarde') (last line rules? what last line rules? I sacrifice last line rules to demons) (on which note, the next chapter is finally nearly almost just about done 🫩)

Several things happen at once. Leon scrambles for his hilt, and both Dalyria and Gale shout at him to hold. Petras begins to cackle as Astarion screams for a sword once more, and Sebastian darts forth from the manor, bringing his master's weapon. Then silence, charged like the moment before a lightning strike and punctuated only by the long, resonant scrape of Wyll calmly withdrawing his colichemarde.

WIP Wtoday

Thanks for the tag @patheticfangirl! (If you haven't read Obligatory Bloodweave Porn #4269 yet, do yourself a favor and click that link). Here's another snippet from the next chapter of Hellfire & Damnation, I'm hoping to have it finished in time for Spooky Sunday 🤞 🌬️

"At least put on your coat and hat, my lord," Sebastian pleads now, gesturing to the vestments sat waiting on the floor. "The storm is approaching quickly. This damned wind-" Astarion shrugs, gazing into the middle distance as Sebastian wraps his bare torso in a long, black hunting coat and sets a gold-trimmed black tricorne upon his curls. "There..." Sebastian smiles softly, adjusting the coat's high collar around Astarion's neck. "That should keep you-" The lord pushes him aside, hailing the stranger walking onto the forecourt with two horses, one starlight white and the other black as coal. "Dammon!" Astarion shouts over the wind. "Make haste."

WIP (I-don't-even-know)Whatday(it-is)

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important WIP date. Thanks to @mustardsprite for the tag (go read Weird Fishes, it's one of my current Bloodweave faves).

I finally have something to share! Since it's been ages, here's the whole opening of the next chapter of Hellfire & Damnation.

In his bid to understand man's relentless belief in its own inferiority, Gale once sought out every credible account of the afterlife he could find. He wanted to know where people's faith comes from, what evidence there is to give credence to their implausible dogma. He hunted down chronicles on what the French call 'revenants' — those who look death in the face and turn their back. He read report after report of long walkways ending in blazing light and feelings of unutterable warmth and peace. Despite his skepticism, he'd shivered at descriptions of souls leaving bodies, witnessing events the apparently dead individual couldn't possibly have seen. He railed at the lack of scientific insight into these cases. How fascinating it would be, he'd grumble, to understand what was happening inside the mind during such encounters. Rather than the lazy ascription to God and angels and heaven. How fascinating it would be to experience it oneself. Then a ball of lightning took him to the brink, and Gale saw nothing. He felt nothing. His soul, if he has one, remained firmly in his body, coiled in shame and lodged at the back of his throat. And Gale's disillusionment grew.
