EXPLAIN: Quick summary: I commissioned a badge from Modesto Worgi in February with very little communication from them. I asked about the badge, was told many times, week after week that it would be shipped soon. After months of never receiving the badge and watching them continue to take more commissions through the Dutch Angel Dragon Community facebook page, I finally filed a paypal dispute in April and received a refund from Modesto, saying they would still ship the badge “once issues at home are figured out”. It is now May and I’ve yet to hear anything more or receive badge. They are still asking for commissions on Facebook.
Full summary: I commissioned a badge of my character Blush from Modesto on February 11, 2016. There was hardly any communication, and after a few weeks I asked about the status of my badge and was told that it was ready to ship. Over a week later on March 7, I messaged them asking about the badge because I hadn’t heard anything more about it. They said they had a family emergency and would send pics and ship it as soon as they returned home. This “family emergency” looked to me to be a vacation, and I asked them to be honest with me. I asked for a refund if they hadn’t finished it yet, and suggested that, from a business standpoint, they keep their customers updated on the status of their commissions. I then said that that would be the last time I bugged them, and the next message would be a paypal dispute. They then continued to say that since I was new to the fandom, and I need to know that artists take time because of the “fast paced environment”. I told them that I may be new to the fandom, but I have been a renowned crafter and artist for 10 years. I basically went on to say that they need to let commissioners know of about the length of their commission queue.
March 22, 2016, I asked about the status of my badge and they said it would be mailed out on Saturday
April 3, 2016, I never received a badge, asked about a tracking number, and was told they don’t get tracking numbers on badges because they send them in an envelope, and that they included bonuses in my package because of my wait.
April 14, 2016, I submitted a paypal dispute about this case. Modesto refunded my money and said they would ship the badge once “issues at home are figured out”. It is now May and I’ve yet to hear anything more or receive the badge. They are still asking for commissions on Facebook.
