Got one of these guys today on a post (I mentioned art commissions in the tags, I'm guessing that's why it snagged). Looks like there's a couple more people have sent you using this line, so here's another sample at any rate 😅
Thank you for your ask. :)
When you or anyone gets messages like this, and I can't stress this enough to everyone:
Make sure you go to that hacked accounts blog, and report either a post that blog has made, or a reblog of theirs (not the og post they shared, you need to report THEIR reblog of it for it to work) as:
something else > unlawful use > phishing.
In the text box, you need to make sure that you start your description as something like:
Hacked account attempting to perform the 'I accidentally reported your account' scam. They left a comment on my post. <insert link to THEIR comment on YOUR post. Any evidence is good evidence.>
You can grab comment links by clicking the meatball (. . .) menu by a comment, then by clicking 'copy link'.
Again, I can't do much about the blogs themselves, I can only help other users know how to identify the scam, and how to properly report it. :)
Making a list of 'accounts that are performing the scam' is just impossible right now. :( So please make sure YOU report them when YOU encounter them. Even if you're just browsing an art tag or something and you see comments on someone else's post and you see someone asking if it's a scam or not. Let them know it IS scam!
Helping others helps you in the end. :)
Thanks again for your message!
