MORTY'S BIRTHDAY ASKS || Accepting till Monday !
Staying up until 2am probably wasn't the best idea. However, Morty had gotten an early birthday present and he just had to spend seven hours playing it through --- and he wasn't nearly done with it yet.
None of that stopped him from portalling into his boyfriend's bedroom, sleep deprived and with a few boxes in hand. Colorfully wrapped with space themed paper in yellow, greens and blues.
With a yawn, he set the presents on the desk, approaching his boyfriend to collapse into a hug. Only to close his eyes in the contact.
"H-Happy Birthday, my love," So sleepy, that he added a pet name he never used before. "Y-Your presents are over there."
As he fell asleep, standing up and head rested on that shoulder, he would be depriving his counterpart of the horror and galactic themed video games that he got him. As well as a few comic books that were ones he remember his boyfriend telling him about.

Morty had never thought of his birthday as something exciting or a recurrence to look forward to. He didn't hate nor dislike it, but it wasn't his favourite event by far. He enjoyed how his whole family felt forced to be nice to him and do nice things for him and, once he had gotten old enough to understand that, he had started to exploit it, without any shame.
And why shouldn't have he? After all, his parents and sister were mean to him more often than not, whether they did or didn't mean to be. In his eyes, it was just fair to get payback and some compensation for it.
As for what Rick was concerned, things were much more complicated, so he settled on having an excuse to demand things from the man and see if he could have it his way. At times it worked, more often it didn't, but Morty didn't mind that much, even if he acted like he did.
It was how their relationship worked and, nowadays, he was very well aware of the power he had on his grandfather. He did get what he wanted when it truly mattered and that was enough.
Since he had started to date his counterpart, however, things had changed. Now he had a reason to be excited about his birthday, because he got the perfect excuse to do something special for and with his boyfriend. He always loved their time together, no matter what they did or where they were, but he treasured every chance he got to plan something more structured. It allowed him to show the other just how much he cherished him.
That year was no exception. He had booked them a special experience in a virtual reality facility, where they would get to play out a fantasy quest, with both action and romance. He wasn't trying to be fancy or to show off. He had seen the ad and thought that they would have a great time, so he had gone for it.
The moment his other self, all yawns and dark circles under his eyes, portaled into his room, though, Morty had the most distinctive feeling that he would have been forced to changed his plans for the day.
He didn't hesitate to catch his counterpart in his arms, supporting his weight as he slowly melted against his chest, mumbling those words that had Morty's cheeks redden with warmth before passing out.
For a few moments, he simply stood there, holding his boyfriend up and basking in the sweetness and cuteness of the moment. As much as he had been looking forward to their outing, he couldn't bring himself to be upset. He would get them another reservation for that virtual reality date. After all, what mattered was making his counterpart feel good and happy.
"H-Happy birthday to you too," he whispered, pressing a lingering kiss against that temple, before carefully manoeuvring them both towards his bed.
He would have brought his other self back to his room and checked out his presents eventually, just...not yet. He wanted to stay there a little longer, with his boyfriend trusting and fast asleep against him, and just look at him.
At how handsome he was, to get lost in how deeply in love with him he was.
"F-Forever and always, you and I," he breathed out under his breath, so quiet that he himself could hardly hear the words.
An offer, an oath, a hope, a goal. And he would have made it into reality, no matter what.
