Question if Alain and Mairin were to journey throughout sinnoh what would be their Pokémon teams that included charizard and chespie as their main Pokémon. What would be the others ones?
Sorry for taking so terribly long to answer this! I only very recently opened up for asks and didn’t make any sort of announcement for it, so I was quite flabbergasted when I saw the ask in my inbox.And seeing as this is my very first ask, I wanted to make sure I gave the question some serious thought before answering. Especially because it’s something I’ve never really thought about before.
Sinnoh, eh…? As I wrote in that fluffy post last month, my headcanon is that Mairin would be journeying through Hoenn (with Alain tagging along because after everything they went through to be able to travel together again neither of them would want to split up that soon), and after that I figured they’d both end up working at Sycamore’s Lab. So I never really worked Sinnoh into the equation…
I could definitely see them travelling there, though. In fact I’d say it’s probably the most likely of the other regions for them to visit, considering that Sycamore used to study under Professor Rowan, and I imagine they still keep in touch. So them going there per Sycamore’s request is definitely not too unlikely.
So… I guess I should move on to the actual question!
I’m not sure if I could see them going on a full journey through the region, but I think Mairin would still definitely want to catch many of the Pokémon she’d meet there - especially the ones not commonly found in Kalos or Hoenn. A Cherubi is what instantly comes to mind, probably mostly because of its similarities to the Pokémon she already owns, but I could also see her catching some more unusual Pokémon too - maybe a Skorupi or Gligar, perhaps a Yanma (imagine all the YanMEGA silliness!)… I think she’d just want to make friends with all sorts of Pokémon.
Alain is a bit trickier… He has never really shown any interest in catching more Pokémon - we still don’t even know if the five other Pokémon he used in the League were his own, or if he just borrowed them from Lysandre or something (I’m personally leaning towards that as my headcanon, to also explain why Alain didn’t use them in the fight against Lysandre afterwards, thinking they’d maybe follow Lysandre’s orders over his own)… I think he’d mostly just want to catch Pokémon that could help with the Professor’s research, really. Perhaps a Heracross to use the Heracronite they’ll probably have found, and maybe an Onix, Scyther, or even a Buneary…
So, uh… Yeah. That might not have been quite the kind of answer you were looking for, but my thoughts just started running wild and this is what I ended up with, so hopefully that’s fine. Thanks for the ask!
