A New Member For The Vassar Class Of 1914!!!
Everyone meet Helen Shelley!! Heiress to an immense fortune accumulated by her eccentric (and Irish Catholic, no one else forgets to bring that up and neither should you) father, who caused quite the stir when he married a native American woman, the shock!!! And it seems that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree with Helen.
Majoring in English with a focus on the Romantics (she maintains that she will always be heartbroken over the fact that she will never be able to cavort with Lord byron) and the classics with a focus on the Greeks (she was named after Helen of troy so naturally she had to) and has been the topic of many a conversation since her first day, when she arrived with bare knees and with a Princeton boy on one arm and none other than Jack Quarterback (an old childhood friend) on the other! She says she's comfortable around men as she has had to entertain many of them whenever her father hosts parties and dinners, something he enjoys doing (mostly so he can continue to scandalize everyone else, at least that's the theory). Many are surprised at how witty of a conversationalist she is, and the breadth of her knowledge, considering the fact that she tends to turn up to class late, wearing a different cologne from the day before (usually belonging to a boy many of her other classmates have their eye on). But her wealth and popularity seem to be only outweighed by her kindness, which she never hesitates to show to anyone, from the lowliest servant to the most distinguished gentleman.
Of course there's her constant talk of women getting the right to vote and socialism and racial equality, but it's bound to be nothing more than a phase (hopefully).
Regardless she's always delightful, if hedonistic and radical, company and is always willing to make new friends!

Tara sighed loudly when she heard footsteps, she looked up from her journal slamming it shut, to meet eyes with the person intruding her alone time “You know, the whole reason I come to the Astronomy tower during the day is to be left alone. Why must you ruin it?”
