Headcanon: You cannot tell me that some 14-16 year old Galarian (ie British) boy with no friends (cuz let's be real) is putzing around in ding dang TABI sneakers when there's plenty of perfectly fine Western style shoes to choose from.

He knows what they are. Kid's a secret weeb. I cannot be convinced otherwise.

Is this what a "comfort character" is?

This started out as just a silly lil pic. Then I kept going "Oh, but this would be nice to add. And what about that? But this could be fun. Let's try this. Okay, one more thing." And so forth.

Been mulling over how the kid is really never seen doing something not related to someone else's wants and influences (as bad or wonderful as they may be). We never get to see Bede just be a kid. This, coupled with the tabi sneakers just had me spinning this whole thing about how he spends his free time enjoying Kantonian (Japanese) snacks and reading every bit of Shonen he can get his hands on. I also feel that, despite having that nice coat and nice watch, I don't think Oleana would let him run around willy-nilly with as much cash as he wants. Sure, we wins prize money from battles, but I doubt he actually has as many nice things as one would think when under Rose's "care."

And he's usually seen always put together and tidy. Thought it'd be a funny little thing if actually his stuff just explodes all over any hotel room he's staying at. He doesn't have an actual home, so what's the point in keeping things tidy? I'm sure this would change some once he finally settles in with Opal.

I also think he would die if anyone found out. But I still think it'd be hilarious if he ran into Hop or Marnie in the manga section of a store/library. The amount of denial and sass... lol.

This was actually quite fun. I wanted a sort of soft, cozy evening look, and I somehow stumbled into figuring it out. I looked up so much reference. Luckily, I have a handful of very similar things seen in this image, so it helped when trying to bring it all together.

I tried sort of telling a story on how his day went with this one. Did lots of little easter eggs and the most individual little details I've ever had in a drawing.

It was actually really nostalgic, going back and looking at old manga covers, remembering how absolutely obsessed I was with Naruto and One Piece back in the day. My Hero was much more recent, of course. But it made me feel like a kid again, reminiscing over how special those stories were when first experiencing them.

Was in some really rough places earlier this year. Doing everything I can to keep busy and keep ahold of this... happiness..? Yea. Nervous to post this, lol. I'm sure there's mistakes. But I had fun and all I'm trying to do. :D

Time for some simpler doodles now. :D
