Gabriel smiled again, slinging an arm around her and giving her shoulder a little squeeze, "Looks like my baby bro did well for himself, beautiful girl, to-be beautiful daughter... I'm gonna be an uncle."

She looked up and wrinkled her nose just a little. "I'm not staying this way. I pray I'm not, at least. I should be back to normal after she's born." She smiled and looked down. "I seem to have a thing for angels. You and... him. And Cas, and Markus are both angels. Then there's Robin, who's a demon of sorts."

Gabriel grinned, "Sounds like you won't even need me around then, she'll be in good hands." He joked, then paused, expression falling a bit, "Who's the dad?" It was an ungraceful change of subject, but a change of subject nonetheless.

She didn't look up, keeping her face tucked into his shoulder. "Cas. The one from my timeline. I'm living with him and two other mates in his house." She hummed, biting her lip a little and giving a soft sigh.

"I bet I could teach her a few tricks, who better to learn from than the one and only?" He asked jokingly, but his voice cracked slightly. He was normally so much better with his charades, but he wasn't going to let this one fall away now, it seemed like Conner already had too much going on for him to pile his shit on top of it. He'd deal with this on his own. For now he could be happy.

She giggled a little bit. "I already know Markus and Cas are gonna teach her well. Miranda wants to teach her magic. Why not? She's gonna be a little troublemaker anyway." She laughed softly, though she didn't miss the falter in his voice. She wrapped an arm around him, turning her face into his shoulder.

At the change in topic, a mask resembling his old snark seemed to slip comfortably into place. He leaned on her a little and grinned, "You should totally name them Gabriel, works for a girl or boy."

She raised an eyebrow at him and laughed. "We've already got her name picked out. Besides, that'd be a lot of pressure to put on her, wouldn't it? I mean, no one can really live up to that name." She leaned into his shoulder just a bit, poking him lightly in the side.

"It's a long story. Not one for right now." He said with another aborted smile, "I'm just happy to be here. I'm happy you're doing okay. Gonna be a beautiful kid."

She frowned a little bit at that, but didn't push. She'd been fighting with people she cared about too much lately. She wasn't gonna do it again. "I'm glad you're here too. Thank you... I hope so. I can't believe it's going to be so soon..."

Gabriel shrugged, shaking his head. There seemed to be something else he wanted to say, something that was eating at him, but he remained silent for a few more seconds, "It's good to see you."

She finally looked up at him and raised her eyebrow slightly at the expression. "What is it?" She asked, her voice hushed. Then she looked away briefly again. When she looked back up at him, she smiled weakly. "It's good to see you too, Gabe."

Gabriel took a step back himself, realizing what he'd just said and that she hadn't even known that /he/ was back until a few minutes ago. He screwed his eyes shut and ran a hand over his jaw, "I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't even..." He paused for a second and then looked back up at her, face tight, "Sorry."

She bit her lip and looked down at her feet, rubbing the back of her neck. "It's okay. I guess I would've reacted the same way before..."

Gabriel's eyes widened at the mention of Zack, an almost palpable tension forming in the air somewhere between anger and eagerness, "You talked to him and you didn't tell me?!"

She blinked in surprise and stumbled back slightly. "Once. If you can call it talking. He's not the same. It was mostly yelling and crying and arguing. I haven't... I haven't seen him since."
