Sat down and drew all of my game protagonists from games I've played where you make your own protagonist (ie the protag doesn't have an established backstory/story and often has some form of customization). Putting the art below a cut though because there's 21 of them total.
Also!!! Some of them have their nude bases because they were ones that were more detailed and I was proud of, but they're basically almost all inhuman characters so there's no real nudity whatsoever.
OK here is all I could find........ I turn to dust.....
Good times!
Today’s stream went super well! Hellpoint is a fun game, even if I yelled at it a lot. XD Was great to have @asaltyrat join me for some Hellpoint Hijinks, too! Also want to thank Oliver for funding the DLC for us! Really appreciated.
Hellpoint
Chapter 10: Page 23
I want to do full review of Hellpoint but for now:
I like this game a lot and I do recommend it, especially if you enjoy Dark Souls-type of games!
The world is pretty expansive and gives the player a fair bit of choice when exploring for different areas. The areas even loop back to previous biomes you been through. The levels look pretty solid too, and the atmosphere is really nice for invoking some spookiness or awe feelings. There are loading screens between biomes unfortunately, but I cut the devs slack on that one.
Combat offers a lot of weapons and chip choices for your weapons to give you a lot of freedom. The weapons themselves can be leveled up for more perks and special skills even and the chips can be leveled up for more damage. The game DOES force you to use a melee weapon, since melee strikes are the only way to gain back energy(which basically magic) and your health charges for your healing item. In way its kinda like in Hollowknight, which I do enjoy.
That being said it is a much easier game than most imo. Guns do feel a bit stronger than they should and leveling up chips can give you some nasty damage for little cost. Breaches(this game’s bonfire) heal you and do not respawn enemies. This is “kinda” balanced out by the fact they do not refill your energy health charges. Enemies do respawn if enough time passes or if you go into new area, so you would have to inevitably complete area or refight the enemies again.
Speaking of enemies, there really is not a big enough variety imo. It is especially bad with bosses, most of the bosses you fight are bigger versions of the same enemies you face throughout the game with maybe additional attacks. I am really not a fan, I can understand why, but I wish they would at least give them altered models.
The game is also kinda buggy. Most of the time its just going to be your raggdoll spazzing out on death, getting kinda caught in geometry or an enemy spinning in place. There was a more serious one where I got locked out from doing a specific ending due to an npc just respawning back into his original space, restarting the whole quest again. Not to mention that there is a skill that just does not seemingly work at all.
Also you can’t customize your character’s face for some reason. That COULD be lore reason, but not being able to customized your character in a souls style game with multiplayer in it feels so wrong.
Despite all that, I do feel that most of the combat, flexibility of weapons, and overrall world design is pretty great still. Especially for the price 35 USD on Steam and GoG. I personally think its worth it, but its totally fair to wait on sale.
There’s also demo of it called “Hellpoint: The Thespian’s Feast” on both sites. Yes, it IS a sequel in a sense, but its more of a new character investigating saying, “What happened here?” while the main game shows “What happened”. I think the demo does decent job at what to expect from the game, minus the multiplayer stuff such as messages.
So, play Hellpoint!
Your descent into meaninglessness brought you to us.
Like so many of you, you are drawn towards the abyss.
