His lips were practically trembling with the effort it took to keep the smile off of his face as his mate sniffed at the package, finally digging into the colorful folds of paper to find the stupid little toy. His initial reaction was priceless, albeit a bit gut wrenching to see the excitement drain from every fiber of his being as his fingers curled around the rubber figurine and pulled it from it’s packaging. He snickered behind the back of his hand, turning his head to the side so his mate couldn’t see the child-like joy he’d found in the playful payback.
But the tone of voice used as he spoke up a second time, repeating himself in a way that made it known he had nothing but horrible things in mind, made the leopard king glance back over at the wolf in time to see him drop the toy on the ground with a wicked grin and shift right there in the middle of their kitchen. Mika's expression changed enough times within the span of a few seconds to seem almost comical; from amusement, to confusion, wariness, and lastly, surprise as he watched the large canine leap towards the cheesy toy and begin to gnaw on it.
Amusement began to settle back on Mika’s visage as he leaned back and watched his mate tear into the... the increasingly loud and annoying little toy repeatedly. Golden-green hues drooped so that his expression was one of exasperation as the shrill squeak of the toy bounced off of the walls and greeted the cat’s over-sensitive hearing in a way that slowly chiseled away at his patience. In his own defense, he lasted a lot longer than he would have expected before he finally pushed away from the counter and joined his mate on the kitchen’s tiled floor in his leopard form, claws scraping against the tile as he towered over the squeaking wolf with a large paw on either side of him.
He gave a sound somewhere between a growl and hiss as he dipped his head to bite playfully at his mate’s thick fur, excitement pulsing through his body until he could practically hear it rushing through his veins. Pulling at Charlie’s coat, the leopard attempted to paw the toy from his jowls, another little squeak of protest coming from the little mail man.
