Fun Fact
You Don't Get A Say In Whether Or Not What You Say Is Offensive Or Disrespectful
my sister and I have to share a hotel room, right now she could be anywhere in the room (including her own bed) but she chooses to be right on mine obviously, while leaning on my bag and watching netflix with the volume turned up
tbh i almost never get genuinely angry at people, my sister is the only exception so that’s why i post these complaints abt her

Yasmine Van Wilt is a North-American singer-songwriter, writer and actress. She’s completed a PhD in Creative Writing and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
A musical chameleon, she records under her own name and under the name of her two alter egos, Elle “A” and Antoinette. She describes her music—that she creates for herself—as “a folk-rock-pop hybrid, with a strong dash of Delta Blues”.
Yasmine has written not only songs but also, plays, films and trans-media narratives for her alter ego characters. She has created these characters as a means of challenging the boundaries between the performative arts that she practices professionally, as a way of exploring her musical range and re-defining the boundaries between “performance personas” and “identity”. Elle “A” is, for example, a parody character. She is outrageous and garish; through Elle “A” Yasmine attempts to make a statement about the decadence and outrageous permissiveness of “celebrity culture”.
Yasmine’s Elle “A” ‘Amazing’ track reached 7 in the UK Music Week Charts. The music video was a viral internet hit and was featured on many European music TV channels. It continues to also feature on UK LA Fitness and ASDA (a Wal-Mart franchise) in-store channels.
In Antoinette, Yasmine creates a commentary about environmental exploitation; Antoinette’s story calls upon not only Yasmine’s “lived experience” growing up on the Gulf of Mexico but also her doctoral research into the aftermath of the BP Disaster. Antoinette is a storyteller through whom Yasmine communicates the story of the people of the Gulf of Mexico’s struggle.
As Antoinette, Yasmine has performed her one woman play Live and Unplugged all across Europe; she has more recently performed the play in the US where she will soon begin touring widely. The music she has written for this play, which will be released later this year, comprises the bulk of her debut studio album.
Yasmine’s prequel to Live and Unplugged, the first play of hers in which Antoinette features, We’re Gonna Make You Whole, was published and re-published (in monologue books) by Oberon Books. The play won Yasmine official selection as a Women’s Playwright International in 2012. She has been shortlisted for the 2015 competition for her sequel to Live and Unplugged, The Gift. Yasmine composed scores for all of these plays. Selections from these scores will feature on the forthcoming album.
On May 31st, she performed songs from the play’s score live on US National Public Radio (NPR). Yasmine has received numerous further awards for her work; she has received generous backing from the European Union’s culture funds.
