These are a series of one shots about Striker and Blitz raising their new baby.
No Mpreg was involved in these fics.
What do you think?
Blitz and Striker sat on the couch in the apartment casually watching TV while munching on some takeout food. Blitz was sitting cross legged on the couch while Striker sat with his legs stretched out on the table the duo had about a week of no jobs leaving them plenty of time together. Blitz shoveled another mouthful of food into his face, looking over at Striker briefly a question remerged in Blitz’s brain that had been marinating there for a while now causing Blitz to throw a downcast look at his takeout container.
“Hmm, somethin’ wrong darlin’?” Striker asked arching an eyebrow upon noticing his mate’s look.
“Uh…well…not wrong really…” Blitz trailed off
“Then what?” Striker persisted
“I-I have a question…and I’m not sure how you’ll feel about…what I want to ask,” Blitz stammered a little as he started rubbing the back of his neck, a habit Striker was used to seeing when Blitz was nervous.
“Ya know Ya can ask me anthin’ sugar,” Striker assured Blitz
“I know…alright…how would you feel about adopting a kid?” Blitz nervously asked, tone lowering as he actually spat out the question. Striker’s eyebrows shot up as his eyes widened, completely taken aback by the unexpected question.
“Ya want another kid?” Striker retorted
“Don’t get it twisted, I love Loony but…I always felt a little…disappointed that I missed out on her younger years,” Blitz admitted keeping his gaze firmly averted from Strikers.
“Blitz…I don’t know about this…I don’t think I’d be much of a dad,” Striker stated taking his turn to avert his gaze to the ground.
“Really? I think you’d make a great dad,” Blitz reassured Striker with a smile finally turning to look at his mate.
Striker went extremely quiet for a long while, staring at the floor with a solemn look on his face as he contemplated what Blitz was suggesting. Striker knew Blitz’s desire for a family after all it’s why he really started IMP to begin with and if Striker was being perfectly honest, he always wondered what it would be like to be a dad, but…he feared doing something wrong after all he’d never raised a child. A gentle hand cupping his cheek pulled Striker from his thoughts as Blitz crawled onto his lap, straddling the pale imp’s hips as the city imp wore a warm yet slightly concerned smile on his face.
“Are you okay? I didn’t realize this question would break you,” Blitz chuckled as Striker placed his hands on Blitz’s hips.
“Nah, that’s not it. Ya do realize Yer askin’ a lot of me, right?” Striker pointed out with a heavy sigh
“I know…but why do you think you’d be such a terrible dad?” Blitz asked
“Blitz, I’m not exactly a gentle guy. I’m set in my ways and I’m gruff…it’s not exactly the personality one wants around children,” Striker explained
“I don’t think you give yourself enough credit…when we’re together your plenty gentle and you care about me.” Blitz pointed out as he started lovingly kissing along Striker’s jaw down his neck.
“Hmm, Ya have more faith in me then I do,” Striker retorted, tilting his head to allow Blitz better access to his neck.
“Kind of my job as your mate,” Blitz chuckled continuing to kiss to Striker’s nape where he paused at the mating mark he’d placed there.
“Humph, Ya do realize raisin’ a kid is a big task. It’s not like raisin’ a teenager like Loona,” Striker pointed out.
“I know that…I think we can do it though,” Blitz confidently declared leaning back slightly to smile wide. Striker released a deep sigh of defeat then gave a little crooked smile to Blitz.
“Alright, darlin’, but no babies,” Striker insisted
“Nah, not really looking to raise a baby,” Blitz agreed then leaned in for a loving kiss with his mate.
The Adoption
Blitz was starting to drive Striker insane with this adoption thing thus when a job came up, he was grateful to leave for a week or two. Striker still had his reserves about the whole thing which weren’t helping either but regardless tomorrow he’d be headed back to his giddy mate for another round of appointments to go see kids Blitz had lined up. Laying on top of the blankets on the crappy wire motel room bed with one arm behind his head Striker texted Blitz letting him know he’d be on the way early tomorrow morning. Blitz responded rather quickly with a smile emoji that made Striker roll his eyes but also elicited a grin, another text showed up asking what they should have for dinner. Striker was about to respond when he heard a thud come from the room next door, his immediate conclusion was a couple getting it on especially in a shitty place like this but when a woman screamed Striker was immediately put on edge. Texting Blitz quickly Striker told his mate he’d be right back then placed his phone on the bed as he stood up, grabbing his pistol from the bedside table. A door slammed followed by the sound of quick foot falls heading away from Striker’s room, glancing out the smudged window through the broken blinds Striker noted 3 figures currently high tailing it down the stairs at the end of the balcony of the floor his along with several other rooms were situated on.
Striker left his room cautiously, instantly seeing the room they must have come from as the door of the room right next door to his was slightly ajar. Carefully Striker nudged the door open revealing a bloody sight, on the floor was an imp woman who’d been bludgeoned to death. Blood coated the motel room from floor to ceiling, Striker holstered his pistol although he felt sorry for this woman in the end it wasn’t his concern nor was there anything he could do now thus he turned to leave when another noise caught his attention. A small, muffled cry rang out in the quiet of the night, Striker turned back into the motel room glancing around trying to pinpoint where the cry was coming from…the kitchen. Striker headed into the small dingy kitchen realizing the cry was coming from a cabinet, opening the door his eyes went wide and he was taken aback. Laying bundled in a blanket stained with blood was a baby imp, not just any baby imp though…this little one looked like Striker. The imp was pale in complexion exactly like Striker, a serpent imp except instead of yellow eyes it had giant crimson eyes…they cried with their little hands reaching out seeking comfort, gently Striker reached down and scooped up the little one into his arms, cradling it against his chest as he glanced once more at the mother’s body.
Striker knew the baby wouldn’t survive if he left it and handing it over to anyone in this area was a bad idea in general, so he took the baby back to his room. Striker placed the child on his bed then checked his hell phone realizing there was about six text messages from Blitz wondering what was happening, Striker responded telling Blitz it was fine but that he had a surprise for when he got home tomorrow. Not bothering to see Blitz’s response Striker turned his attention to the baby currently cooing softly on his bed, checking the little one for wounds luckily finding none before cleaning…him up.
…
The next day…
Striker arrived home in the afternoon dropping his duffle on the floor next to the door, toeing off his boots then closing said door when Blitz came out of the bedroom. Blitz’s cheery smile swiftly fell as he furrowed his brows into a confused expression upon seeing Striker cradling a tiny bundle in his arms.
“Um…what’s that?” Blitz inquired pointing at the bundle.
“The surprise…” Striker trailed off as he gently unraveled the blanket to reveal the tiny baby boy.
“Huh? Did…did you steal a baby?” Blitz questioned in a serious tone
“NO! His mother was killed in the room next to mine last night…I-I couldn’t just leave him there,” Striker stammered averting his gaze from Blitz.
“Oh…wait…does this mean…?” Blitz hesitantly trailed off
“Why do Ya think I brought him home?” Striker retorted returning his gaze to Blitz
Blitz’s face lit up with joy as he gently reached out to take the baby from Striker, cradling the sleeping little one in his arms. Striker leaned down to open his duffle revealing a couple bags of baby supplies he’d picked up on the way home. Grabbing one of the bags he headed to the kitchen to put the supplies away as well as make up a bottle for the baby. Upon returning Striker found Blitz sitting on the couch with the baby, rocking it gently as he watched TV.
“He’s gonna need a name,” Striker stated as he sat down next to Blitz, handing the bottle over.
“Yeah, any ideas?” Blitz prompted as he put the bottle’s nipple to the baby’s lips which he took and began to suckle.
“What about…Damian,” Striker snickered
“No, we are not naming him after a demonic child in a human film,” Blitz retorted, narrowing his eyes and puffing his cheeks in annoyance.
“Ha-ha, I was jokin’ darlin’…how’s about…Kaiden?” Striker chuckled
“Hmm…I like that, Kaiden…” Blitz trailed off looking down at the baby in his arms.
“Alright, Kaiden it is,” Striker declared
“By the way I thought we agreed no babies,” Blitz teased being partially serious but partially joking.
“We did…apparently somethin’ else had other ideas,” Striker confirmed in a matter-of-fact way.
Blitz chuckled then settled back with the baby so they could watch TV together.
Late nights
Striker awoke to the sound of their new little one crying, blinking against the haze of sleep he grabbed his phone from the bedside table, squinting at the bright screen when it turned on. The home screen revealed the time to be 1:15 in the morning causing him to groan while running a hand over his face as he sat up, white hair sticking in all directions. Blitz was snoring beside Striker making the pale imp smile sleepily before slipping from the bed, pulling on a pair of loose-fitting jogging pants over his boxer briefs he'd been sleeping in. Moving out of the bedroom he headed to the living room where they had the baby’s crib set up next to the television, clicking on the small lamp that sat by the crib revealing the crying little imp. Leaning over the crib Striker shushed the little one, scooping Kaiden into his arms then pulling the baby boy against his chest while walking towards the kitchen to make a bottle.
Striker leaned against the counter gently patting Kaiden on the back as he waited for the bottle to warm up, trying to keep the little one from crying because Blitz had been working double shifts the last few days along with helping with the baby. Striker didn’t want Blitz waking up on the one night he had to rest unfortunately Kaiden wasn’t being cooperative, fussing more then usual until Striker released an unintentional nervous rattle from his tail. Kaiden stopped fussing to look at Striker’s tail that had coiled around to his right-side hovering midair, shivering at the end producing the sound. Repositioning Kaiden so he was cradled in Striker’s one arm he hovered his tail above the little imp and created the unique rattling noise he’d learned to do when he was but a child himself. Kaiden cooed happily as his little hands reached for the appendage although Striker assured to keep it just out of reach, he as well as blitz had already learned that babies and tails don’t mix.
Once the bottle was finished heating Striker picked it up then moved back to the couch making sure to close the bedroom door on the way by. Settling on the couch the pale imp leaned back with Kaiden cradled in one arm as he began to feed the little one who made happy little coos. Propping his feet up on the coffee table in front of the couch Striker started humming an absent tune. Once Kaiden finished the bottle Striker put the bottle on the coffee table, repositioned the baby onto his shoulder to burp him then walked over to the crib to change him before settling the little one back down. Striker didn’t leave simply settled back on the couch with his phone to make sure Kaiden fell asleep, fully intending on going back to the bedroom once their baby was back asleep however Striker didn’t make it there. Striker closed his eyes while waiting for Kaiden to fall asleep and instead fell asleep himself, chin tipped to his chest and arms crossed over his chest.
Kaiden slept till the early morning when Blitz emerged from the bedroom with a long stretch and a loud yawn. Blitz smiled warmly at seeing Striker asleep on the couch as he made his way over to the crib to see Kaiden just waking up with a little yawn. Blitz picked the little one up before he could start fussing and went to make two coffees as well as a bottle for Kaiden. Rocking Kaiden gently as Blitz waited for the drinks to be ready a pair of arms suddenly wrapped around his waist followed by Striker’s chin coming to rest on Blitz’s shoulder.
“Mornin’ Darlin’, sleep well?” Striker sleepily asked placing a kiss to Blitz’s cheek.
“I did but apparently you didn’t…why didn’t you wake me up to help with the baby?” Blitz asked turning to acknowledge Striker’s sleepy expression.
“Wasn’t necessary, besides it was the first night Ya had to sleep in over a week,” Striker explained keeping his hands on Blitz’s hips as the other imp turned to face him, thumbs rubbing lightly over Blitz’s skin just above his pants waistband.
“Still…” Blitz trailed off looking down at Kaiden
“Blitz, I know Ya raised Loona by Yer self but that’s not how it is anymore…Yer not alone anymore,” Striker assured his mate, tapping their foreheads together as he nuzzled lightly against Blitz’s face.
“Yeah…I guess,” Blitz chuckled lightly
“Now, let me get the coffees while you get the bottle,” Striker stated as he gently pushed Blitz to the side to gain access to the counter where the coffee was brewing.
The three settled on the couch with Blitz feeding little Kaiden while Striker sipped his coffee, setting Blitz’s coffee on the table. Flicking on the TV they watched for a while till Kaiden was napping in Blitz’s arms.
“So…I’ve been meaning to bring this up…” Blitz began as he trailed off
“What’s that, Sugar?” Striker asked in acknowledgment
“Well, I think it’s clear but…we’re going to need a bigger place, this place is fine while Kaiden is little but once he get’s bigger…” Blitz trailed off
“I was thinkin’ about that myself…it’s expensive in the city…” Striker trailed off
“Yeah, I know…but maybe if we save up for a bit…” Blitz hung his head as he thought about how much they’d need to save just to afford a small apartment.
“Blitz…I may have the solution, wait here,” Striker stood from the couch heading for the bedroom instantly drawing Blitz’s attention, arching an eyebrow curiously. Striker came back a short time later handing a picture to Blitz who furrowed his brow in confusion as he took it. The picture was of a cabin style house in what looked like the middle of nowhere.
“What’s this?” Blitz asked curiously
“Potentially our new place, I…I built it about 3 years ago,” Striker explained settling back on the couch next to Blitz.
“You…built this? Wow, where is it? Is it big enough?” Blitz asked
“It’s only about 2 hours outside the city and it’s got 3 rooms, so it’d be perfect for us,” Striker answered
“Only 2 hours from the city, that means I’d still be able to run IMP. This is perfect.” Blitz happily exclaimed looking up at Striker with the biggest grin across his face.
“So, we’re movin’?” Striker wondered
“Yes, we’ll start setting things up to move immediately,” Blitz confirmed trying to keep his excitement to a minimum to not wake their napping little one.
“Alright Darlin’, I’ll not take jobs for a little while to get us moved,” Striker chuckled settling back against the couch to watch TV with his mate and baby.
Introductions
Three weeks had passed since Striker had brought home Kaiden yet between working, taking care of Kaiden and now prepping to move Blitz hadn’t had any time to tell anyone. Thus, you can imagine the all-around shock when Striker came to the IMP office with some fast food that Blitz had requested for lunch carrying Kaiden. There was a string of questions that followed Striker as he pushed passed the 3 simply wanting to get to Blitz’s office with the food, setting it on his desk as the office swiftly became crowded. Blitz realized immediately that he’d never told anyone about Kaiden and rubbed a hand over his tired face earning him a sympathetic look from Striker, although he’d tried to stay in imp city or nearby most of Striker’s jobs had been out of town meaning he’d be gone for a week or so leaving Blitz alone with the baby as well as his own work.
“When did you have a baby? How did you have a baby?” Moxxie inquired pointing to Striker almost accusingly. Striker’s expression turned to an exasperated irritated one, an eyebrow arched as he frowned at the little imp.
“Are Ya serious? Plus, why would Ya assume it was me?” Striker asked
“Because it looks most like you,” Moxxie stated using that irritating logical tone
“We didn’t have a baby…look I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys,” Blitz briefly stated with exhaustion lacing his tone.
“When the fuck were you going to tell me? I think I should have been the first considering it’s practically my sibling,” Loona irritably asked, arms crossed over her chest as she pouted.
“We’ve been a lil busy,” Striker stated clearly getting more irritated by the minute at the lack of sympathy for Blitz.
“Alright! That’s enough!” Millie suddenly spoke up, climbing up onto Blitz’s desk earning her surprised looks from the entire room.
“Mills?” Blitz questioned, arching an eyebrow.
“Everyone back off a bit can’t Yall see Blitz is clearly exhausted, poor thing has probably been run off his feet,” Millie pointed out drawing the groups attention towards Blitz and for the first time they actually noticed the dark circles under his eyes and how he seemed rather subdued compared to his usual personality.
“Appreciate that Mildred,” Striker acknowledged moving around the desk to place a hand on his mate’s shoulder.
“No problem, now let me see that baby,” Millie cooed with a big smile, tapping her way across the desk.
Striker nodded gently unwrapping Kaiden further to allow Millie a better look at the little one, she squealed quietly as she reached out to take him. Everyone was now watching Millie with questioning looks.
“What?” Millie asked turning to Loona and Moxxie.
“Why are you so giddy?” Loona asked.
“I have several younger siblin’s and I used to love takin’ care of them when they were babies,” Millie explained
“Anyway…Official introductions I suppose, we adopted? Found? I don’t know! A baby, his names Kaiden,” Blitz awkwardly introduced
“What do Ya mean Ya found him?” Millie inquired
“I found ‘im, we were already talkin’ about adoptin’ but while I was on a job in the room next to mine an imp woman got ‘er self killed. I found the baby squirreled away in a kitchen cabinet, I couldn’t leave him there,” Striker explained
“Was she similar to you?” Moxxie inquired referring to how the baby looked.
“No, she looked like a normal city imp.” Striker answered simply
“Serpent imps aren’t exactly common, it’s ironic Ya found this little one,” Millie stated with a chuckle
“Loonie, you want to come say hi to your little brother?” Blitz asked gesturing to Kaiden in Millie’s arms.
Loona awkwardly approached not sure how to act around a baby, taking a sniff once close enough. Kaiden locked his big crimson eyes on Loona’s ears as they wiggled causing him to giggle, his little hands fisting in the air towards them. Loona couldn’t help the little smile that crossed her lips, shaking her head she pulled back with a firm scowl back on her features.
“Whatever, guess he’s cute. I don’t baby sit though,” Loona firmly stated
“Well, while you’re all here there’s one more thing, I want you to know. We’re moving!” Blitz announced as he stood up.
“Moving? Where?” Millie asked curiously, gently bouncing Kaiden in her arms.
“Only a couple hours outside Imp city so I’ll still be running IMP, it’s just a bigger place,” Blitz explained practically beaming.
“Good for the two of Ya,” Millie smiled back when Kaiden started to fuss.
“He’s probably hungry,” Blitz stated reaching into one of his desk drawers to pull out a premade bottle.
Millie gently passed Kaiden to Blitz who cradled him, offering the bottle which the little one took happily. Striker stood right beside Blitz a little protectively, the large group of individuals in the room had him feeling a little agitated. Millie smiled as she noticed Striker being protective of Blitz and Kaiden then moved closer to Moxxie and Loona.
“Alright everyone, let’s get back to work,” Millie encouraged, flipping her hands in a shooing gesture.
“Yeah, yeah,” Loona groused
Moxxie helped Millie down from the desk as they left together, closing Blitz’s office door behind them so that Blitz and Striker could have some privacy with Kaiden. Alone now Striker calmed a bit, moving to lay out their food so they could eat once Kaiden was finished. Blitz rubbed his eyes wearily as he ate earning a worried look from Striker.
“How’s about after we’re done eatin’, I take Ya home,” Striker suggested
“I still have work to do,” Blitz stated in an exhausted tone
“It can wait sugar, yer exhausted,” Striker worriedly encouraged
“I guess…I could leave it for Moxxie to do,” Blitz decided finishing his lunch.
“Good, come on Darlin’,” Striker smiled, cradling Kaiden as Blitz followed him out of the office heading to the parking lot where Bombproof was waiting.
Growing Pains
Blitz awoke with a groan as the sound of Kaiden crying radiated from down the hall, clumsily grabbing his phone off the bedside table he squinted at the bright screen, 2:15 in the morning. Groaning again Blitz ran a hand over his face after putting his phone back on the bedside table.
“Striker?” Blitz slurred slightly in his sleepy haze
“Yeah, I’m awake,” Striker responded in a groggy voice
Blitz started slipping from the bed as Striker sat up while running a hand through his messy white hair before following Blitz’s lead in getting out of bed. The duo slipped on some pajama pants then headed down the short hallway to the second room that was Kaiden’s. They’d managed to finally get moved into the cabin giving the three of them much more space not to mention Kaiden his own room. The cabin was completely made from wood with two rooms down this hallway in the back along with the bathroom, a trap door in the roof that led to the third loft room, a gally style kitchen was pretty much right off the front door next to a closet and the living area was right across from the kitchen. Blitz pushed open the door to Kaiden’s room with Striker following close behind as they moved towards his crib, Blitz scooping the little one up as he cried.
“He’s barely slept tonight,” Striker commented, placing a hand on Blitz’s hip as he stood right beside him looking down at Kaiden in Blitz’s arms.
“I know…we’ve tried everything though and he just barely gets to sleep before waking back up. Do you think there’s something wrong?” Blitz asked with clear worry lacing his tone.
“He’s not feverish and he’s not coughing or sneezing…everything seems normal except he won’t stay asleep,” Striker noted
“There’s no way he’s hungry…Ouch!” Blitz exclaimed after letting Kaiden put his finger in his mouth.
“What?” Striker asked, arching a brow in confusion at his mate’s sudden exclamation.
“Huh? Oh, I-I think he’s teething,” Blitz concluded looking in Kaiden’s mouth after being bitten
“Teethin’? Oh, that would explain a lot,” Striker stated
The duo took their little one into the living room with Blitz settling on the couch with Kaiden as Striker went to the kitchen, making coffee for him and Blitz while grabbing a kitchen towel and putting some ice cubes in it. Blitz rocked Kaiden in his arms when the little one’s tail came around twitching irritably, gently caressing down the little appendage Blitz discovered there were a few red marks near it’s base. Striker came around placing Blitz’s coffee on the table while handing the towel with ice to Blitz instructing him to let Kaiden suck on it.
“Okay, um…look at this,” Blitz stated, showing Kaiden’s tail to Striker while gently giving the ice filled towel to Kaiden who sucked happily. Striker took a look easily noticing the little red marks causing him to furrow his brow in question, running his thumb over them revealed there were little bumps.
“Hmm, not sure…he might have caught it,” Striker assumed
“Maybe…where did you learn the ice thing?” Blitz wondered as he watched Kaiden relax as he sucked on the ice filled towel.
“I remember my father doing it for me, I was a late teether,” Striker chuckled
“Oh, well it seems to be working,” Blitz chuckled in turn
After hours of crying Kaiden finally settled down to get some sleep allowing the two tired imps to also get some sleep. Morning broke far too soon for both Blitz and Striker’s liking, but they had to get up to check on Kaiden who at first seemed fine however upon closer inspection Blitz noticed some blood stains around the crib.
“Fuck! I think he’s bleeding!” Blitz exclaimed pulling Kaiden from the crib which instantly revealed not only where the blood was coming from but an explanation to Kaiden being so cranky.
“What the…are those…spines?” Striker asked after having come to Blitz’s side rather swiftly upon hearing their baby could be bleeding. Kaiden had small amounts of blood trickling down his arms, tail and back all originating from spines that had protruded from his skin. The small bumps from the night before on his tail near the base had erupted into several triangular spines like Striker’s own, just above each elbow a little pointed black spine had also emerged and finally two black spines had emerged right between his shoulder blades. Kaiden at this point from being jostled around started to cry making Blitz feel a little guilty as he was pretty sure it was because he’d moved the little one two quickly leading to some discomfort.
“I’m sorry…Sshh,” Blitz apologized as he shushed the little imp who he pulled into his chest.
“Huh, guess with the teethin’ that’s why he was so upset last night,” Striker concluded with a sympathetic look to their little one.
Blitz nodded in agreement as he headed out of Kaiden’s room towards the bathroom with Striker in toe so they could clean Kaiden up. After the little one was clean, they took Kaiden to the living room to be fed while Striker and Blitz settled in to watch some crap TV for a little while before hopefully putting Kaiden down for a nap so they could get a little more sleep as well.
Judgment
Kaiden started to grow quickly making it easier for Striker and Blitz to take him out mostly on shopping trips but still it was better then being couped up in the house all the time. Walking through the store Striker picked up the items they needed while Blitz held Kaiden who looked around in amazement at everything and everyone. Striker at one point remembered something from a previous isle they’d forgotten thus he told Blitz to stay put while he went to retrieve it which Blitz did, looking at the magazine’s when an all too familiar yet unwanted voice rang out from behind him.
“Well, well, if it isn’t Blitzo!” Verosika’s voice chimed
“Oh shit! Seriously, what the fuck are you doing here whore?” Blitz groused with a little wince as he turned to see the succubus walking right for him.
“Eeww, what the fuck is that?” Verosika scowled upon seeing Kaiden in Blitz’s arms.
“It’s a baby you bitch!” Blitz retorted, pulling Kaiden just a little closer.
“Seriously, first the hound now…whatever that is? Aren’t you through fucking up other people’s lives yet?” Verosika asked in a venomous tone
“Hey! I don’t give a fuck what you say about me but don’t you fucking dare treat Kaiden like he’s some gross thing!” Blitz growled out
“Humph, it doesn’t even look like a baby. Might as well be a piece of gutter trash especially in your…” Verosika began only to be slapped square across the face. Utter shock crossed the succubus’s face as Blitz stood snarling at her, tears pricking the corners of his eyes and his hand hovering midair where it had stopped after slapping her.
“I told you to shut your fucking mouth about Kaiden!” Blitz snarled out as he brought his hand back to help cradle Kaiden.
“You little shit! How dare you?” Verosika exclaimed raising a hand to attack Blitz who quickly shifted to protect Kaiden when a firm hand wrapped around Verosika’s wrist mid motion.
“Now, now that wouldn’t be a good idea lil lady,” Striker’s smooth southern drawl firmly suggested as the succubus turned her head in shock.
“Striker,” Blitz breathed out in relief at seeing his mate.
Striker released Verosika’s wrist as he walked over to join Blitz with his tail rattling, yet he gave a sweet kiss to Blitz’s forehead then to Kaiden’s. Striker had heard about Verosika from Blitz but up until now they’d not met, needless to say Verosika was in shock upon seeing Striker affectionately kiss both Blitz and Kaiden.
“Somethin’ we can do for Ya?” Striker inquired as Verosika stood slack jawed
“No way! There is no fucking way that a selfish no-good shit like you is with him!” Verosika barked out in jealousy, pointing to Striker.
“Well, we are, and you’d do best to watch what Ya say about my mate,” Striker warned with a low hiss as his tail rattled louder and started to coil around Blitz’s waist.
“Humph, whatever! You can have the bastard but as word of warning, sooner or later he’ll fucking leave you,” Verosika spat before turning on her heels to leave.
Striker watched Verosika till the succubus was well out of eyesight, snarling the entire time as his tail tightly coiled around Blitz who’d gone uncharacteristically quiet. Once Verosika was gone Striker turned his attention to Blitz and Kaiden, the little imp was happily cooing in Blitz’s arms blissfully unaware of the drama that had just gone down, but Blitz had bowed his head with a deep frown on his lips and his brow deeply furrowed. Striker set the basket he’d been holding onto the ground so he could get in front of Blitz easier, pulling the city imp closer till they were nearly chest to chest.
“Hey, Ya alright?” Striker asked gently cupping Blitz’s cheek with one hand.
“It’s not true,” Blitz whispered out nearly too quiet to be heard
“What?” Striker asked, furrowing his brow in question
“You know it’s not true, right? I won’t leave you,” Blitz repeated, looking up at Striker with glassy eyes.
“Of course, I know that Darlin’. Now come on, let’s go home,” Striker encouraged, pecking Blitz on the forehead again before uncoiling his tail and picking up the basket.
“Yeah, let’s go home,” Blitz agreed allowing a small smile to spread across his face as he followed Striker.
Things still weren’t settled though with Blitz and Striker could sense his mate’s distress for the rest of the day till finally they put Kaiden down for the evening. Blitz was laying on his side in their bed slightly curled up absently scrolling through his phone, a frown on his face when Striker walked in. Letting out a huff Striker moved to settle on the bed next to Blitz, gently rubbing a hand over his mate’s back.
“Do Ya wanna talk about it?” Striker inquired
“Not really…” Blitz trailed off, turning his phone off to place it on the bedside table but he didn’t turn to face Striker merely remained curled up facing away from him.
“Ya sure Darlin’?” Striker asked again this time receiving a heavy sigh from Blitz
“I won’t leave you and I’m not going to screw up Kaiden’s life…right?” Blitz whispered out in a shaky tone.
“Of course not, don’t listen to that bitch! What the fuck does she know?” Striker assured Blitz moving his hand from Blitz’s back to his shoulder.
“I am selfish though…” Blitz began only to feel Striker gently tug on his shoulder
“Hey! Come on now, don’t start that…look at me,” Striker encouraged till Blitz did as instructed, turning around to face Striker revealing his eyes were filled with tears.
Striker gently pulled Blitz to his chest, coiling his long tail around Blitz’s own as the crimson imp buried his face into Striker’s collarbone, inhaling his scent. Striker placed a loving kiss to Blitz’s forehead then nuzzled him.
“Ya ain’t goin’ nowhere and neither am I…I love Ya Blitz,” Striker whispered against Blitz’s horns
“I love you too,” Blitz returned the sentiment, nuzzling against his mate’s collarbone
“Atta boy,” Striker chuckled softly as he brought a hand under Blitz’s chin, pulling back a little to tip it upwards into a loving kiss. Blitz returned the kiss as one of his hands came up to cup Striker’s cheek.
They shared the kiss for a while till Blitz gently pushed Striker onto his back to crawl on top of him, straddling the pale imp’s hips. They’re hands gently started to explore further leading to perhaps one of the gentlest and most loving sessions of sex they’d ever had ending with Blitz falling asleep on Striker’s chest.
Growing Boy
Blitz was amazed at how quickly Kaiden grew in one year not to mention the unique characteristics he began developing. Around Kaiden’s eyes he developed a crimson hue near his temples, the same hue also spread to each spike mingling with his pale complexion as if dusted with a deep blush in those spots and his hair started growing in, but it was almost silver in color instead of just white. Kaiden also started to walk taking unsteady steps all around the cabin that had Blitz panic covering every potentially sharp corner or edge in the entire place and if Striker hadn’t put his two senses in Blitz would’ve strapped pillows to Kaiden. Striker had the mind set that kids got hurt period and there was nothing you could do except patch them up or help them back on their feet whereas Blitz was that worried mother hen.
Striker lounged on the couch casually scrolling through his phone with a cigarette in his mouth while his tail was wrapped firmly around Kaiden’s waist as the little imp wobbly walked around the living area. Blitz had been out getting groceries but when he walked in to see Striker allowing Kaiden to walk around so casually with out intense supervision his brow instantly furrowed in annoyance, lips pursing at the same time. Blitz dropped the bags at the door getting Striker’s attention a smile forming on his face as he put his phone down beside himself on the couch and pulling the cigarette out of his mouth. Striker prepared for a kiss as Blitz walked towards him only to furrow his brow in confused surprise as Blitz walked right past him to Kaiden, scooping the little one up prompting the pale imp to release his tail.
“Hey? What’s wrong?” Striker asked instantly pushing up from the couch as he sensed his mate’s irritation.
“Could you at least try to take Kaiden’s safety seriously?” Blitz asked with irritation dripping from his tone.
“He was fine Blitz, I had him with my tail and if he fell it wasn’t like he was goin’ to go very far,” Striker rolled his eyes at the realization of the source of his mate’s irritation.
“He can still get hurt!” Blitz exclaimed
“How many times do I have to tell Ya Blitz, kids get hurt it’s part of them bein’ kids,” Striker shot back getting irritated now.
“I know what you’ve said but you know what it sounds like to me. Like you don’t fucking care!” Blitz barked back
“Seriously! I do care! I’m just not some hover parent!” Striker retorted irritably
Kaiden started crying from the tone of the argument going on causing Blitz to cradle him with a series of shushing sounds while Striker growled under his breath irritably. Striker turned to head for the door grabbing his hat from the coat rack on the way.
“Hey! Where are you going?” Blitz wondered, tone swapping from irritated to confused
“Out!” Striker barked over his shoulder before opening then slamming the door behind him.
“Striker! Wait!” Blitz called after his irate mate only to be left with Kaiden crying in his arms. A deep frown came over Blitz’s features as his eyebrows furrowed upwards.
Blitz settled Kaiden down then placed the little one in his crib to play while Blitz set about putting away the groceries all while horrible thoughts ran rampant through his mind. They’d been fighting a lot recently especially over this whole situation with Kaiden getting hurt, Blitz couldn’t help the little thought that crept into his brain ‘what if he never comes back?’, ‘He’s not coming back’. Blitz shook his head trying to get rid of the thought because Striker wouldn’t leave him and Kaiden…would he? Blitz was quickly pulled from these destructive thoughts by the sound of Kaiden’s screaming cry from his room. Dropping everything on the spot Blitz ran into the room to find Kaiden crying as he was partially hanging by his tail which was caught in the gap of the crib’s headboard and the side piece with the slats on it. Blitz knelt to pull Kaiden onto his lap giving just enough leverage for him to get the little imp’s tail free however it became clear instantly that it was broken.
Kaiden cried into Blitz’s chest clearly in pain and Blitz lost all sense of what to do, logically Blitz knew he needed to treat the injury but emotionally he didn’t want to cause any further pain to his little one. Blitz began gently rocking Kaiden while making soothing little noises trying to calm the terrified and pain riddled little imp to little avail. Blitz felt tears prick the corners of his eyes as he wished Striker were there if nothing else for comfort…but he’d driven him away…his mate wasn’t coming back.
…
Striker put Bombproof back in his stable in the small barn after a couple hours of fresh air he’d realized how stupid he’d been. Blitz could be a little hard-headed about things especially when it came to Kaiden, but he hadn’t deserved Striker’s attitude earlier and he certainly didn’t deserve being left alone with a crying baby. Guilt riddled Striker trudged up onto the wrap around balcony, opening the door only to throw it open upon hearing the unusual screaming cry of Kaiden coming from inside. Running straight to Kaiden’s room Striker screeched to a halt at the door, eyes widening in confused concern at seeing Blitz kneeling on the ground with Kaiden in his arms as he cried in a tone that told Striker the little imp was in pain.
“What happened?” Striker asked, panic lacing his voice as he took a knee next to Blitz.
“Y-You came back…” Blitz all but whimpered out as he looked up at Striker with tears in his eyes.
“What? Of course, I…look, what happened?” Striker pressed despite being completely confused by both Blitz’s comment as well as the current situation happening in front of him.
“Um…I think his tail’s broken…I don’t know what to do?” Blitz whimpered again looking at where Kaiden’s tail was currently limply laying half on Blitz’s lap and on the floor.
“Okay…come on Darlin’, let’s go to the bedroom so I can get a better look,” Striker suggested helping Blitz to his feet but as soon as Kaiden’s tail moved the baby boy screamed again in agony.
“Hush…it’s okay Kaiden…” Blitz tried to ease, rubbing the little one’s back.
Once in the bedroom Blitz laid Kaiden on the bed with his tail flat on the mattress while Striker went to the bathroom to retrieve a few things. Striker returned placing the items he’d gotten on the bed followed by tossing his hat onto the floor followed by his gloves then gently he took a good look at Kaiden’s tail revealing there was indeed a bad break right in the middle of it. Striker grimaced at what would need to be done if it was to heal properly.
“Hold the end of his tail for me,” Striker instructed Blitz, repositioning he was kneeling right against the edge of the bed with Kaiden curled into his chest while Blitz went to the end of the bed to firmly hold the tip of Kaiden’s tail.
“Okay, now what?” Blitz asked
“Don’t let him curl it up or move it towards me at all…no matter what,” Striker firmly instructed
Blitz was confused for a moment until Striker grabbed a butter knife, he’d clearly grabbed from the kitchen and some gaze. Blitz braced himself as Striker grabbed firmly to either side of the broken area of Kaiden’s tail then pulled in opposing directions causing a clicking sound followed by the intense scream of Kaiden against Striker’s chest. Striker swiftly positioned the butter knife along Kaiden’s tail then wrapped some tape and gaze to secure it in place as Kaiden fisted his little hands in Striker’s shirt. Once finished Striker gently wrapped his arms around Kaiden gingerly maneuvering the little one till he was under the pale imp’s chin, gently patting him on the back while making shushing sounds.
“Sshh…it’s alright…I’m finished,” Striker cooed as Kaiden huddled into his collarbone still sobbing with little hiccups. Blitz had released Kaiden’s tail but he turned away as tears began to fall from his eyes as his emotions overwhelmed him.
“I-I’m going to go get some ice…I’ll be back,” Blitz announced quickly leaving the bedroom before Striker could say anything.
Striker managed to settle Kaiden down enough to secure his tail to his back with some gaze, so it wasn’t moving around so much and lay the little one in the middle of the bed. Blitz returned indeed with some ice in a towel for Kaiden’s tail but his eyes were also swollen and puffy from crying which was something that didn’t go unnoticed by Striker. Blitz was about to walk right past Striker when a gentle hand wrapped around his wrist instantly pulling him against Striker’s firm torso as the pale imp took the ice from Blitz to place it on the bed.
“Blitz…did Ya think I’d left Ya?” Striker asked causing Blitz to avert his gaze.
“When you left…I thought you wouldn’t come back…” Blitz trailed off in a shaky tone
“I’m so sorry Darlin’…I didn’t mean to hurt Ya…I never shoulda said the things I did…” Striker apologized as he tapped his forehead to Blitz’s.
“I’m just as bad…I accused you of all that shit and here Kaiden gets hurt while I’m watching him…” Blitz whimpered as he gave in to his longing for his mate, wrapping his arms around Striker for comfort.
“Hush…I love Ya Blitz and I’ll never leave Ya…I promise,” Striker assured Blitz as he kissed his mate’s forehead and embraced him back.
The duo broke from the embrace after a moment, Striker grabbing the towel filled with ice as they both moved to crawl onto either side of Kaiden on the bed. Gently Striker pressed the ice to Kaiden’s tail as the little one curled up under the blanket still sniffling slightly as he dosed on the cusp of sleep.
Luckily Kaiden was still young and growing which allowed his tail to heal quickly and within a week it was almost completely healed with no sign it had ever been broken.
