When I was a teenager, I saw Helmut Newton’s legendary photo of a woman in a black and white men’s suit standing on the streets of Paris and I fell in love with it. It was filled for me with a mystery and romance. She was holding a cigarette and her gaze looked down. I think it has influenced all my art in general; the perfection of the shot, the black and white contrast, the striking sensual woman often nude. That’s how I see Helmut Newton women and that’s how I started to see my women. I made my “behind the screen“ interpretation of that woman.It’ll be posted later.
