Quiet Chatterbox - a helory fluff

For as long as he could remember, not that many people handled Memory's densely talkative attitude well. He can go on for hours just talking about things that he finds interesting or some random observations that he noticed.

Out of all of the things he said, none of them was ever more than merely trivial matters to his listeners. Despite that, he'll always end any silence with random subjects that he could think of. That is until someone decided to shut him up.

One of the very few people that could tolerate him is Helian. For every subject that Memory brought into the conversation, Helian would always listen attentively. He's the type of person you wouldn't see talking much. Some would argue that he's cold and reserved, but Memory could never view him that way. Why would he? He's one of the dearest friends that he could ever wish for.

Little canary - that's the nickname Helian gave to him. It's one of the many things that he liked about Helian; the fact that he's able to treat him so kindly, without underestimating him in the slightest. Generally, canaries don't speak, but they sing as much as Memory would when he's talking. Which usually would be true, until...

The two have been walking together through a meadow for the past ten minutes for their hangout. Usually, Memory would dump any information that he could think about. But this time, their walk is only accompanied by the serene sound of nature as breezes of spring gust all around them.

"Hey, little canary–" Helian spoke, finally breaking the silence "-is everything alright?"

Memory was confounded, the amount of time when Helian would start a conversation could be counted on the fingers of one hand. It made him feel somewhat honoured.

"Why of course it is, I get to hang out with you today, what could be better than that?" He smiled radiantly, hopping ever so nonchalantly after answering the question.

Helian looked away, trying to hide his flustered face upon hearing his answer.

"I-it's just that," he added, fidgeting with his clothes, "you're just usually not this quiet before, s-so I'm kind of worried."

Memory's smile widens instantly, and he giggles as he gets closer to hug him.

"Awwww thank you for worrying hely." He looked up at him with an endearing little grin.

"But there's nothing wrong really because as long as I'm with you, even silence won't be dull," he added with a sincere smile.

Helian beamed in an instant, feeling relieved after hearing Memory's sentiment about him.

Memory himself couldn't help but blush lightly as he sees Helian's smile, his soul would skip a beat or two whenever he does that, and he hasn't figured out why.

Afterwards, they continue their hangout, bonding over books that they read together under the shade of a blooming hawthorn tree.
