The ask about the southwest/Bath. If you're in Bath then try the Jane Austen centre and the Roman Baths at least. You're on an easy train ride to Bristol so there's somewhere that's good to explore. Exeter is about an hour from Bristol by train. You can find the cathedral in the centre, along with the underground tunnels and Rougemont Gardens/Rougemont castle. If you have a car and are staying in the Exeter area, try a trip out to Dartmoor which is a beautiful Moorland.
