It was just Kakashi's luck that he was tasked with looking after the young girl on the verge of turning four.
He had told the Hokage he was not cut to take care of a child, but he had argued that with his tracking skillset, he was the best suited for it, actually.
So here he was, out of ANBU uniform, in the Hyuuga compound, sitting on the engawa like a guard dog while a little girl played in the garden. He followed her with his eye as she ran to him and presented him with a bunch of wildflowers and weeds.
"Thank you, Hinata-chan" he had expected her to ignore him, but she seemed fairly curious. Maybe because he was a new face. What was he supposed to talk about with a small kid, however? what did he talk about at her age?. "Do you like flowers?"
