rewatching the start of rise from the ashes again and it suddenly hit me like a frieght train that ema says that lana ‘asked for mia specifically’
lana didn’t want mia as a defense attorney because she believed in mia’s abilities (tho i’m sure she did) she wanted mia specifically as a fellow elder sister
she wanted to be found guilty to protect ema which means lana asked for mia bc they at one point probably talked about their sisters and lana knew mia would also do anything for her younger sister and would definitely sympathize w lana and help her get the guilty verdict to protect ema
