I’m here asking for something serious. If you can, go see Sound of Freedom. It’s so important. I cannot stress exactly how much. It’s a difficult movie to watch, to be sure, but so relevant and so important. If your only holdup is the funds, go to angel.com. People are buying tickets and paying them forward so everyone has a chance to see this movie. If you have extra funds and feel led to, please pay it forward. In case you don’t know, Sound of Freedom follows the story of Tim Ballard, a Homeland Security agent who goes above and beyond the call of duty—including quitting his job when it becomes a hindrance—to track down sex traffickers and save children sold into slavery.
The sex trafficking industry is a $150 billion dollar a year industry. That’s $411 million dollars a day. $285,417 every single second. It’s the fastest-growing industry in the world. It’s surpassed the illegal arms industry and is quickly closing in on the drug industry. After all, as it’s said in the movie, “You can sell coke once. You can sell a five-year-old girl five, ten times a day, every day, for ten years.”
There are more slaves today than any other point in time, including when slavery was legal. 38% of the world’s population is currently enslaved. This needs to end now. Please, go see the movie.
