i'm moving to vancouver next year and i wanted to know if it's cheap to live there or more expensive ? like, what does an apartment cost or food and such things ?

The biggest difference between Vancouver and Montreal is definitely the cost of living. That'll probably be the biggest shock. Other than that, the weather is very different. We have no snow which is definitely pleasant. I've lived in both places and I find that the people of BC are more relaxed. There's a different ambiance. I find Vancouver more enjoyable but I also know people that prefer Montreal. (sorry, I didn't know is i answered here or to the person who asked)

I am from Montreal and now thinking after a few months. I want to move to Vancouver in a few years after university. Could anyone tell me if there is a big difference between Montreal and Vancouver? I mean both provinces are located in Canada so I suppose it shouldn't be a really big deal to move to West from East x

i'm canadian and have lived in vancouver and montreal. vancouver is beautiful in terms of nature, but super expensive and there's not much to do other than outdoorsy activities unless you want to spend money. montreal is a lot more affordable and more of a student city. it has a lot of culture and there's always something going on. HOWEVER the weather is a lot more extreme (hot summers, freezing winters). nelson, bc is also a great small town w amazing people!! i go every summer :3
