I woke up at 6 am in the morning and I could see the amazing sunrise from the balcony of our guesthouse. A peaceful vibe surrounded me and I felt so happy in that moment. To see the sun coming up behind the mighty mountains was incredibly breathtaking.
I had to wait a while until the other two guys woke up and after a light breakfast we started the last part in direction Poon Hill. From now we knew that we will not be the only trekkers on the trail. Poon Hill and this area are more crowded than Annapurna Basecamp and the Annapurna Circuit together.
On the first few meters we saw many monkeys in the old Rhododendron trees. For the first 2 hours it was an up and down and the sun was burning when we didn´t walk in the forest. But in total it was like a day on the beach when I thought about the hard climb to ABC.
Close to Gorapani we reached a hill from where we could see Gorapani and Poon Hill. We stayed for a while and enjoyed the wonderful view. We were surrounded by the whole Annapurna mountains.
After a short walk down we reached Gorapani and enjoyed the warm sun in the afternoon.
When you walk on the main street of Gorapani you can see that this place is full of tourists in main season. Many guesthouses, shops and restaurants. Hard to believe that a place like this exists in the mountains.
