Hi, I just began reading your stuff and I love it! I'm a member of the Deaf community though and I noticed that you put Dex's signing in italics with no quotation marks, and I just thought I'd tell you that usually it's preferred if there's quotation marks at least because ASL or any other signed language is a real language and *is* 'talking' even if it's not verbal. Not everyone cares, I just thought I'd tell you in case you didn't know. :)
I did not know this! I apologize if that bothers you. I have used it because he switches back and forth from signing to speaking (especially with Wright) and it was easier for me to keep track of whether he was in a 'verbal speech' scene or not while writing.
I apologize again, and thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will think about a better way to designate that - I in no way would ever mean to imply sign is anything less than another language like any other!
