I’m 26 and only have a few tattoos so far, but one of the ones I’m getting at the end of the month is a lyric from Epiphany because it’s the song that first made me want to love myself and it is so important to me, and Jin isn’t even my bias (he do wreck me tho 🥵😮‍💨)

Tattoos are so personal, and if you want a favourite lyric as a tattoo, go for it! Who cares what anyone else thinks? We’re here once. Do what makes you happy, make core memories, get the tattoos you want. Don’t let anyone else dictate your happiness simply because they wouldn’t choose it for themselves.

Hi!! I saw some asks abt getting a bts song lyric tattoo.. i say go for it!💜💜💜 I had my first tattoo in September. But It was simply “serendipity”. I love this word, i love the song. And the meaning behind it. Namjoon did a real good job writing it! And ofcourse, i love the voice behind the song. It’s the first song in my playlist. I don’t know how to explain.. but it doesn’t matter that it’s a song that implies a love that occured by random chance or fate.. it just gives me the comfort i need when i need it. And jimin’s voice just does it for me. It makes me smile, cry (sometimes ugly cry-when times are tough), and most of the time when i do sing at the top my lungs, it just takes all the stress away. I just love it. I’m planning to get another bts inspired tattoo again soon. Maybe a line from RM’s “Moonchild” (It's okay to shed the tear, But don't you tear yourself.) or a line from “Your Eyes tell” (Even the darkness is So beautiful. ) ✨

virgin anon back again to sincerely thank you and all of the other people who contributed to the conversation. honestly I think it genuinely helped get me out of my head enough to actually feel good about some of the stuff I’ve written. I know it won’t always be great but I definitely have a bit more confidence to just write. All of the advice and input was so wonderful and helpful. The imposter syndrome anon is amazing and I can’t say enough how much I appreciated that feedback. And Especially! I have to extra thank (mikrksmos) for the extremely thoughtful words. I do think they absolutely nailed a lot of the things I think and feel about the whole situation. I’m glad I haven’t just don’t something for the sake of doing it. And your words Ryen for reminding me that fiction is fiction and many people write about things that have never, and in some cases could never, happen all the time and they’re great at what they do. And that since this is something tangible I can research and read and learn. It’s all been so helpful and has made my dim day quite bright. Thank you all and keep being wonderful humans in a world that desperately needs you 💜

Additional for those who wants to write smut but have no experiences: pay attention to the consent. There are some cases where I help my editor to proofread NSFW scripts with barely to no consent between the characters (and we have to remove one or a few paragraphs because it's disturbing). It's not only making the readers uncomfortable, but having them questioning your research for those scenes.

Also sometimes sex isn't as fun or steamy as what you see in movies. There's also awkwardness and sometimes embarrassing moments you can add to make it more natural.

Good ass points, Erl!! Consent is key. I don’t touch non-consensual stuff ever, but I know that if you do end up having that in your writing, for all that is good please tag diligently and appropriately.

Also! Awkwardness can be very real. It is what makes those scenes realistic and relatable. Funny moments and breaks in seriousness and general checking in, too<33

Hey! Idk if virgin smut writer anon is still around, but as a 26 year old virgin that (sometimes) writes smut, I understand the worry that maybe you’re not doing a great job. It can be a little scary to write something that you don’t know first hand, but like any other topic you might write about that you haven’t experienced, it’s important to maybe consume some content, do some research concerning it.

Also, it made me a little sad to hear them say “regrettably virgin” and wondering if they should just go lose their virginity. I know we live in a society (sigh I know, not trying to be funny) that pushes sex to an almost overbearing degree. As someone who identifies in the asexual spectrum, I know the struggles of dealing and thinking about sex when society tells you that it’s “strange” to be a virgin in your mid to late twenties. You don’t have to force yourself into a situation just to check a mark for a human experience. Let it happen when it will happen (I know it’s different for sexual people and you all don’t see it the same as asexuals but I hope it comes through as respectful). Let it happen when it feels right and you won’t regret it. I think when we’re younger we tend to see it as a must, but once we mature some of us come to the conclusion that hey “it may never happen” and then that in turn makes us internalize it and feel bad about ourselves. You are not the only one anon. I haven’t even had my first kiss, and I’m not embarrassed or shy about it, because I don’t regret having just ticked the experience off, I know I would have hated it.

Don’t worry too much that you haven’t experienced it when it comes to your writing, the more you write it, it might even help you explore things that maybe you hadn’t thought about before. Be gentle with yourself too, if it’s too much, maybe step back and try something else for a while, until you’re ready to come back to it. 💜
