NET NEUTRALITY IS IMPORTANT

I filed my letter to the FCC. If you don’t want the internet turned into a nightmare you need to do your part. We all do.

My name is Lucas Carter. I am not a bot, I am a person who lives in Maryland and I have a voice. My voice and my views are that Net Neutrality is important. For many people. If the FCC really stands for the wishes of the American People, you should listen to us. A huge majority of people stand for net neutrality. By rolling back net neutrality laws, you are essentially turning the internet into a fascist order dictated by greedy companies with corporate agendas. Think about the people. That college student who is barely able to pay their tuition, using internet resources to start an online business to help get them through college or using other online sources to study. Think about that LGBT teenager who uses Social Media to feel better about themselves and realize they arent alone. Think about those who are suicidal who use a free and neutral environment to escape the voices in their head. Think about the people, not just the greedy corporations that only care about money. I use Tumblr, Wattpad, Youtube and Instagram alot. Tumblr helps me realize I’m not alone and there are tons of people who go through that I go through. Wattpad is where I practice writing. Its my dream to be an author. Youtube is where i can laugh, escape from the horrible things I go through. And Instagram is how i talk to my friends all around the world and get to laugh at their pictures and the things they get to do. For example one of my friends just went skydiving for the first time. They streamed it on Instagram and it felt like I was with them, even though I was in my bed. Thats what the internet means to me. So, I’ve said what I need to say. I play chess alot, and in chess we have a phrase. Im gonna use that phrase now. You’ve heard the voices of the people...its your move.

Thats my letter. You can’t steal mine or they’ll ignore it. Lets show them that in this country, the people are the ones you should fear, not the corrupt corporations who seek to undermine our basic human rights.

Ok so here is the thing.. I am not a northern american. I'm from a country in Central América called Honduras. Many, if not most, of the People down here do not care about this kinds of problems. But this is serious and can (and will) affect everyone, so here I am. I'm trying to make a stand for everyone outside of USA to help prevent this catastrophe happening. Because you could argue "But this only happens in América. Why should we care?" and you mayor be right, but when it happens to us then it wont be a problems for the americana would it? Besides we must help in anyway posible, and I know that we cannot contact the ones responsable for this like senadors and stuff, so here its what we are gonna do: We are all going to try and get as many people as possible informed of how they want to "control" the internet under the hasttag #savenetneutrality and who knows? Maybe some of the ones we reached can do a call or email to the senadora or even the FCC (is it correct?). Furthermore we will give a chance to show the world how important this actually is for everyone involved, which considering its the whole friking internet... Lets say its a lot. On Feb 1st 2020 (yes just a few days ago) the acknowledgment of a community icon was finally recognized for the work she has been doing for children in the community for years. @_nyquazah_ opened Qua’s Creative Art Center which is just the next chapter for the @creativekidz movement. She is accomplishing the feat of giving local kids a positive outlet that they actually want to go to all while fighting & winning her personal battle with lupus.
