Hawkins, Indiana in 1985 a town full of the usual high school cliques ex boyfriends, and teens looking for summer jobs at the newly opened mall. What the town had that others didn't was an underground Soviet base and teen with superpowers from a local lab that was recently exposed and shut down. Or the constant appearance of creatures out of the slowly growing infamous tabletop that the only kids doing anything about them tend to play. In world where dungeons and dragons is real, Stella Henderson finds herself exceeding the usual definition of a teenage dirtbag, and sits at the cusp of herodom all while trying to avoid the boy she left in the name of protection.
