Paying A Visit

The Black Ranger made port at the Stormwind harbor with the early afternoon sun shining down upon the captain as he stepped out of his quarters. Henreth took in a deep breath of the harbor air. A scent that may reek to some, but to those that love the ocean, the salty air is a fragrance of home. Securing his rapier in his holster, he made it across the ramp that led to the docks, “Scrub her down good, men!” He paused and smiled to the young woman that had just joined the crew. Wriggling his fingers he spoke with a soft gentleman tone, “And lady.” Henreth reached to remove his hat and give a polite bow of his head, but was quickly reminded of its absence. He brought his hand down to grip the hilt of his rapier and gave an awkward sort of nod of his head, instead. The woman whom is feared by nearly the entirety of the crew rolled her eyes and went back to work. He mumbled something about the hat he so dearly loved and paid no mind to the woman’s behavior, “Probably still laying at the bottom the ocean between here and Kalimdor.” The captain cleared his throat and shouted once more as he stepped from the ramp onto the docks. “And load her down before sundown!” he reminds the crew as he hastily heads toward the city. 

Footsteps close in on the front door of the Lord and Lady Holt, but suddenly stop. Henreth halts dead in his tracks, gasping out at the horrendous sight before him. The captain brought his hand to cover his mouth and spoke behind his fingertips, “I am surrounded by death.” He walked over to one of the fallen and caressed it gently with the cup of his hand, “Such delicate and beautiful innocence gone from this world far too soon.” His bottom lip quivered as a dried petal fell loose and drifted to the ground. Wasting no more time he rapped his knuckles upon the Holt Townhouse door quite vigorously, “I know you’re in there you murderous scoundrel! You can’t hide from Captain Henreth Malone!  Henreth continued to knock, despite his knuckles quickly growing sore, “Out with you!”

About Captain Malone

1) What does your muse smell like?  He smells of sweet herbs and flowers due to growing them being one of his beloved hobbies. Planters full of flowers and herbs line the windows of his captain quarters.

2) How often does your muse bathe/shower? If not a full bath, he sponge bathes while aboard the ship, daily. The ship docks along the coasts for trade deals and exchanges quite frequently so having plenty of water aboard the ship is not an issue.

3) Does your muse have any tattoos or piercings?  He has the tattoo of an anchor on his shoulder that is coiled in rose vines.

4) Any body movement quirks (e.g. tapping heel, shaking knee)? He is quite articulate with his hands when he speaks.

5) What do they sleep in? He sleeps in a rather comfy bed in the captain’s quarters of The Black Ranger. Very rarely will he sleep in a tavern or inn.

6) What’s their favourite piece of clothing? He loves clothing, considering he crafts fine clothing during long nights when he is unable to sleep. He is rather gifted with his hands. Picking a favorite article of clothing would be impossible.

7) What do they do when they wake up? The first thing Henreth does is water his herbs and flowers as his morning tea steeps. Once he’s had his cup of tea, he gets cleaned up and steps outside of his quarters to check on his crew and his ship.

8) How do they sleep? Position?  He doesn’t sleep too well since the death of his dear friend and captain, Captain Drakus Kolvar. When he does sleep he has nightmares of the night he couldn’t do much to save the man after being injured in the process. However, when he does sleep, he sleeps on his back mostly, but occasionally on his sides. He does occasionally sleepwalk to the galley and eat whatever his hands can find. The crew has learned to lock most of the food away and leave him out a plate of leftovers.

9) What do their hands feel like? Despite his cleanliness and his refined behavior, Henreth is a hard working ship captain. He gets his hands dirty, just like the rest of the crew considering he was only a the First Mate of the original captain of The Black Ranger. After the brutal murder of Captain Drakus Kolvar, the ship passed to him, the only thing that changed about him was his title.
