Henri van Breda trial: The man who murdered his family with a hatchet
"Blood ran like a cascade down the stairs," affirmed presently resigned Christiaan Koegelenberg.
Over three years after Mr. Koegelenberg strolled into the middle of that horrendous scene, a judge has discovered the family's just surviving child, Henri, blameworthy of utilizing a hatchet to slaughter his mom, father and sibling.
His more youthful sister figured out how to survive the assault in their home in a gated lodging home in Stellenbosch in South Africa's wine area.

'Affectionate family'
Martin and Teresa van Breda were found in a pool of blood on the principal floor of their home on the De Zalze Golf Estate on the morning of 27 January 2015.
Close by was the body of their 22-year-old child Rudi and their 16-year-old girl Marli, who was battling to remain alive. Van Breda, in the meantime, had maintained just minor wounds.

The aggressor had moved rapidly and strongly.
The Western Cape High Court concurred that the degree of the wounds implied that the attacker had proposed to murder.
Van Breda gave an announcement to police not long after the occurrence saying that a well-manufactured dark interloper was at fault.
He portrayed a man wearing gloves and a balaclava breaking into the family home.
