Ranking Pirates of the Caribbean Couples

7. Jack Sparrow and Angelica
I could see where the writers were going but I personally don't ship it. There was some chemistry (I could see them going for competitive haters) but for me, Jack flows better without a love interest. Not to mention, there's no future since Jack left her to die.
(By the ways, I'd totes marry Penelope Cruz. Javier, you lucky fella.)
6. Philip and Syrena
It has potential but there was no chemistry and very forced scenes. Maybe it would've worked with different actors or a better paced love story? There is no future since she's gotta live underwater and he's a hooman. How they gonna spend time together?
5. Elizabeth Swann and James Norrington
My boy just can't catch a break can he? Poor lad. I'm glad he stood aside when she chose Will. The fact that he died for her speaks volumes about how much he cares for her, even if it's not requited. (Just a reminder, it's okay if a woman doesn't love you back. That's life.)
4. Davy Jones and Calypso (Tia Dalma)
I wanted to put this higher except that I know how this ship sinks. The fact that Calypso was the only thing that could turn Davy Jones human again 😭😭 but it was clear that they were pretty toxic. He ripped out his heart to forget her and she cursed him. I don't really know who to blame but I'm leaning towards Davy.
3. Henry Turner and Carina Smyth
A bit rushed but I can live with it. So much chemistry and their scenes were so wholesome. Philip and Syrena were like an underdeveloped rip-off of Willabeth so Henrina was a refreshing take. Willabeth are the soft lovers who pine over each other whereas Henrina are the arguing teens who will fuck or fight. They had so much in common and yet they were so different. He's an energetic cinnamon roll and she's a spunky, done-with-life gal. AHHHHHH! I can see a future of bickering and sexual tension before they finally get married. (Side note: the way that she's Barbossa's daughter and he's the Turners' son haha)
2. Hector Barbossa and Margaret Smyth
Hear me out! Hear me out!! The cold, ruthless Hector Barbossa found a woman he loved enough to have a child with?? It's a fucking miracle. And unlike Davy Jones and Calypso, he still loved her long after they were separated. Had she lived and he didn't have to give up Carina, I think Barbossa would've been a very different man (the daddy vibes are real lmao I'll see myself out).

I was super depressed at the end of AWE but their reunion in DMTNT was worth it. Orlando and Keira's chemistry was unreal. Will and Elizabeth were so perfect for each other. The development over 3 movies was 💯💯 and let's not forget their iconic wedding ("BARBOSSA!").
