⁃ Captain Armando Salazar
I think it has been a long time since the last time I drew Captain Salazar on digital…
This fanart has to be my new favorite drawing so far… Not only I love how it loo, But I also think I finally found an art style I love !
And of course there’s a little animation with it :3
Creepy yet badass, that’s what I love xD !
Anyways, time to be inactive again 🫡
Have a Good night / good day !
Oh, yes, I adore men with curls! 😍🥰✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨❤️🔥💖♥️❤️💘
Salazar got me feeling this way 24/7
look potc5 is objectively a very bad movie however there are very few lines of prose in this world that make me go as buckwild fucking feral as "who am i to you? / treasure" followed closely by "i'm a captain / i know which stars to follow home"
LESARO (And Barbossa) BEING THAT SEA OF THIEVES MEME
ok i infodumped about this on discord earlier but i want it here too so here. unedited, kind of a wall of text about how DMTNT actually would have been better without Jack
i've identified the problem with 4 and 5
jack sparrow didn't actually need to be in either of them
and the fact that he was actually ended up making them worse because it was impossible to work his character into the story without completely fucking up the character
Salazar was the reason they came up with for Jack to get involved. If he wasn't a direct and specific threat to him, he wouldn't need to exist. But Jack absolutely did not need to be part of Salazar and the Silent Mary's whole story.
IN FACT.
it would have been far more interesting if the destruction of the Silent Mary had been caused by Will somehow. Something simple. They're chasing what they believe to be a pirate vessel, but it's the Flying Dutchman, come to retrieve the souls of some no-name pirates the SM crew had just killed. They chase it down, it approaches the mouth of the Devil's Triangle, and then either submerges or vanishes with the Green Flash, leaving the SM sailing full speed with no chance to turn around
Then there could be some drama where Henry finds out about this and has to grapple with "ok my father isn't exactly the saint I believed him to be, do I still want to break his curse?"
and Salazar would still have a reason to be chasing them, because not only is this boy looking for something that will break his curse, he's also the son of the bastard that put it on him in the first place.
Jack's character was so OFF in that movie because he didn't really DO anything. Things happened to him.
He was never the driving force of the plot even though he was STILL presented as the main character
he was tertiary at best
primary: Henry's quest to find the trident and break Will's curse
secondary: Carina's quest to prove that she knows what she's doing, the map is real and the destination is real (and to feel some indirect connection to her father, which ends up being direct in the end)
tertiary: honestly not even JACK'S quest! it's Salazar's! It's HIS quest to kill Jack for revenge!
so i guess the fourth most important is Jack's extremely vague and flimsy motivation of "my life sucks now and i want it to suck less maybe :/"
