FFXV x King’s Knight BBS/Message Board Date Errors
Key Ignis - Ignis Henruit - Gladio LOKTON - Prompto +Prince+ - Noctis
Wow, I didn't think I'd be making another post for this ever again, especially so soon...So, according to the in-game notices from the King's Knight devs, there were some errors in what dates were shown for certain BBS Banters. The 2 conversations affected were: Banter Part 5 and Banter Part 6.
I feel like they may have gotten those corrections wrong, because that means that, according to these conversations and dates (provided by the actual FFXV writers for this event), the 'bros had an audience with Regis 5 days before they actually departed for their trip on 756-V-16th, the old dates made more sense. here's a helpful timeline report from @dizzymoogle, and here's a transcription of the banter dates changed and following that a side-by-side comparison of the dates:
Banter Part 5 originally occurred on: M.E.756-V-13th spanning 08:20 and 08:34 that day. The date is now reportedly M.E.756-V-11th spanning 08:20 - 08:34
Banter Part 6 originally reported to have occurred on: M.E.756-V-15th (the day prior to their canonical audience with Regis before departing for Altissia) from 23:15 through 'til 23:24. The date has now been changed to: M.E.756-V-11th from 23:15 to 23:24
Banter 5: M.E.756-V-13th 08:20-08:34 >>> M.E.756-V-11th 08:20-08.34 Banter 6: M.E.756-V-15th 23:15-23:24 >>> M.E.756-V-11th 23:15-23:24
So originally, the date and time for Banter 6 (the exchange that actually mentions that Noctis is to meet Regis the following day) would have made a lot of sense, as the Chocobros presumably had their meeting with the King and left for their trip to Altissia on the same day, the new date implies that they met with King Regis on the 12th and not the 16th, judging by the contents of Banter 6 everyone already knew of the "Peace Marriage" arrangement. So...they met with the King 4 days before their departure and then...just fucked about until they left on the 16th?..I'm just confused now. This weird gap that now seems to exist in this timeline is what is making me think they're done-goofed on the "corrections", either way I'll keep an eye out for any further notices released on these "corrections".
I just thought I'd throw a post together for anyone interested...This is all just extra stuff for funzies, so if you're really into your in-game lore, then don't feel like these changes fuck with anything, because nowhere has it actually been stated that these banter exchanges were actually canonical, while yes: the conversations and dates were written and provided by official FFXV writers, they have not in anyway gone out and stated that it's anything besides some "fun extras" for the collaboration event. At this stage they're as canonical as each individual wants them to be, if you don't care for these banter sets or the dates in relation to the actual game-canon/lore, then you can straight up act as if they don't exist; on the contrary: if you really do want them to be part of the canon, then there is nothing stopping you from accepting them as that. The dates are probably just a bit wacky because of communication/translation issues and/or of course human error, which we're all prone to. TL;DR: I'm just being pedantic about all this for the sake of nerding out a bit, these changes don't mean anything major in regards to the official game canon.
