Rowan manages to wait until the next day to show up at her parents house. By then she has showered, scrubbing the smell of smoke out of her hair and tried to wash away the fact that she has become this person again. There aren’t many people she wants to be around right now, and she just wants to feel like her old self for a little bit, not the version of her that just burned a house down over a man and then went and slept with him. Guess those five years she hasn’t been a Thane haven’t changed her as much as she thought they had. Rowan had checked the hospital schedule before deciding to go to her parents house, knowing that she’s not in any mental state to deal with whatever Addison will surely throw at her. It feels odd walking up to the Fisher household with her tail tucked between her legs and her shoulders heavy, but right now she just wants her dad. She wants to convince herself that she is six again and Henry Fisher is the only man she needs, the one who will easily scoop her up in his arms and chase away whatever problems she is facing. Which is exactly what he has been doing lately, arguing with Addison night after night for Rowan’s sake --- she can’t help but wonder what he would say if he knew what she had been up to the night before and a pit of guilt settles within her.
She opts to knock on the door instead of just walking in. They have only been back on good terms for a few years now and Rowan still sometimes feels like she is on the outside of the family, like she doesn’t really belong here anymore --- and maybe she doesn’t. “Hi,” she greets quietly when Henry answers the door. Teeth sink into her lip momentarily after she tries, and fails, to smile at him. “Can we just.... hang out tonight?”
